The Power Rangers are making a comeback! With a new toy line and a live-action series in the works for Disney+, the franchise is gaining momentum. Now, season 2 of Power Rangers’ Re-Ignition is adding even more excitement with the introduction of popular characters like the White Ranger and Lord Zedd.
Playmates Toys recently unveiled the new Baboo figure as part of their Re-Ignition toyline, which is exciting for fans. Jason Barra shared photos from a visit to Playmates Headquarters last year, giving us a closer look. While showcasing the Baboo figure, the photos also reveal several unreleased figures on the left side, including Lord Zedd, the White Ranger, the Black Ranger, and a sneak peek at the Yellow Ranger. Playmates Toys Has More Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Heroes and Villains on the Way
The most notable figures are the Auto Morphin ones. While the first series included a complete set, the new series will add Tommy as the White Ranger. Fans who already have Tommy’s Green Ranger figure can now collect Auto Morphin versions of Rocky (Red), Adam (Black), and Aisha (Yellow). We’ve only seen a picture of Aisha’s box so far, but the others are also coming.
It’s hard not to notice the Lord Zedd action figure, which seems to be from the same collection as Rita Repulsa, Goldar, and a Putty. Baboo is also included, and fans are hoping Squatt and Finster figures will be released soon, allowing them to complete the classic Power Rangers villain group for display.
One of the coolest, but easily overlooked, villain additions is the Z-Putty. You can find it disassembled on the table, hinting that it will mimic the show’s effect of breaking apart when hit in the chest. Like the first wave’s Putty with its spinning head and attachable weapons, this one seems to be a fun reference to the original series, especially if it does end up falling apart when damaged.
