Coming up with fresh ideas for thrillers is tough, but every so often one really stands out. Four years ago, a survival thriller did well in cinemas and then became even more popular on Netflix. Now, a sequel to that film is coming out this summer.
The 2022 thriller Fall captivated audiences with its story of two friends climbing a towering TV antenna, only to find themselves in a terrifying fight for survival. After a successful run in theaters and on Netflix, a sequel, Fall 2, is now in the works. Set to release on August 7, 2026 (according to Collider), the new film will feature a different cast and a completely new storyline.
What Do We Know About Fall 2?

The original movie followed the story of best friends Becky and Shiloh. However, Fall 2 will introduce a completely new set of characters. Despite the change in cast, the film will still explore similar themes of surviving a perilous situation and confronting past emotional wounds.
The upcoming series, Fall 2, features Harriet Slater, Arsema Thomas, Peter and Michael Spierig, and Tom Brittney. It tells the story of two friends traveling across a perilous bridge in Thailand to cope with loss. Their journey of healing quickly turns into a struggle to survive when a rockslide blocks their path.
The original film, Fall, was made for just $3 million but went on to earn over $21 million in theaters. A sequel was quickly approved, and the movie gained even more popularity when it started streaming on Netflix. It’s unclear why it took four years to make, but the sequel will finally be released in a few months, which is great news for fans.
Fall 2 lands in theaters on August 7, 2026. The first Fall is now streaming on Netflix.
