The darkly comedic and often shocking series from Netflix, created by a well-known comedian, is back for a second season this week. Though the show’s first season received mixed reviews (earning a 54% rating on Rotten Tomatoes) and pushed boundaries with its humor, it was popular enough with viewers to earn an Emmy nomination and a renewal. Season two will premiere on the streaming service on Sunday, May 24th. Think of it as a more adult version of Saturday Night Live.
As a huge comedy fan, I’m getting really excited for season 2 of Bad Thoughts on Netflix, which is coming out soon! If you haven’t seen it yet, or want a refresher, now’s the time to check out season 1. It’s created by and stars Tom Segura, who’s become a massive name in stand-up and podcasting, and honestly, the show lives up to its name – it’s really pushing the envelope. It’s definitely edgy, sometimes even a little uncomfortable, but Segura is at his most unrestrained in this 12-episode series. I can’t wait!
Tom Segura’s Bad Thoughts Season 2 Arrives On Netflix Later This Week
After the hugely popular Roast of Kevin Hart—which is still one of the top shows on Netflix in the US—Netflix is releasing season 2 of Tom Segura’s sketch comedy series, Bad Thoughts. Segura plays a variety of characters in the show, ranging from exaggerated versions of himself to completely original creations born from his unique and often quirky sense of humor. If you’re familiar with Segura’s stand-up or podcasts, you’ll likely enjoy this show.
Despite its shocking and often crude humor, Bad Thoughts stands out on Netflix. Even longtime fans of comedian Segura might be surprised by how far he pushes boundaries, starting with a chaotic spoof of a hitman thriller in the first episode. The first season is relatively short, clocking in at just 114 minutes over six episodes, and its graphic content means it’s not a show you can casually binge-watch. However, if you enjoy comedy that takes things to the extreme, it’s genuinely funny.
Why Bad Thoughts Is Considered Netflix’s Darkest Comedy Series Ever
Netflix’s Bad Thoughts is a show you really need to experience for yourself. It’s hard to describe because it’s incredibly raw and pushes boundaries. Think of it as a collection of every taboo topic you can imagine – that’s why many call it Netflix’s darkest comedy. It seems like that’s exactly what creator Segura and his team were aiming for, and they absolutely nailed it.
Though Gabriel Segura leads the show, season one of Bad Thoughts included fun appearances from stars like Jimmy Kimmel, Dan Stevens, and Shea Whigham. Season two boasts an even bigger lineup of guest stars, including Luke Wilson, Martha Kelly, and Kevin Nealon. Considering Segura’s connections to comedians like Bert Kreischer—who has his own popular Netflix show, Free Bert—season two might have some unexpected big names pop up. Like the first season, each episode will be around the length of a movie. Bad Thoughts season two is aiming to be a popular streaming choice on Netflix and is sure to be a great binge-watch for comedy lovers this weekend.
