Netflix has a new night to remember.
Netflix is poised for a strong 2026, already having several movies and TV shows achieve international success. New original series like His & Hers and Run Away are keeping viewers engaged with surprising twists and unexpected deaths.
Alan Ritchson’s action film War Machine is currently a huge hit on Netflix, topping the charts with its blend of war action and science fiction. And now, another new show is quickly gaining popularity: the Spanish crime thriller That Night. All six episodes are available to stream on Netflix now.
According to FlixPatrol, the new crime thriller That Night is currently the third most popular show on Netflix around the world. It’s quickly gaining traction, surpassing shows like The Dinosaurs, Bridgerton, and Love & Death. Currently, only Virgin River and One Piece—both of which just released new seasons—are more popular globally on Netflix.

The thriller series That Night premiered on Netflix on March 13th and quickly became popular. It reached the #4 spot on Netflix’s global charts the very next day and has since moved up to #3. As of now, it’s trending in 70 countries and is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s biggest hits of 2026.
The TV series That Night is a hit on Netflix, reaching the top spot in 14 countries like Argentina, Panama, Serbia, and Ukraine. It’s also become popular in the US, currently ranking as Netflix’s 8th most-watched show. It’s performing better than series like Bridgerton and The Night Agent, but trails behind shows such as The Dinosaurs and One Piece.
I just finished watching That Night, and it’s a pretty gripping story! It centers around three sisters – Elena, played by Clara Galle, Paula, played by Claudia Salas, and Cris, played by Paula Usero. Basically, one of them gets caught up in a murder while they’re on vacation on an island, and the other two rush to help. But things get seriously complicated fast. I checked out the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and it’s currently sitting at a 60% critics’ score, though that’s only based on five reviews so far.
The new Spanish thriller series, “That Night,” is based on Gillian McAllister’s novel of the same name. As it’s just been released, its score on Rotten Tomatoes will likely change over the next few days. This limited series is the latest crime thriller to perform well on Netflix, continuing a trend from early 2026.
