Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga! Following the huge success of the Netflix live-action series One Piece in 2023, a second season is coming next spring. Season 2, titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, will continue the story of the Straw Hat Pirates as they navigate the dangerous Grand Line – a sea known as the pirates’ graveyard. While the first season covered the East Blue Saga, Season 2 was originally planned to adapt the entire Alabasta Saga. However, to ensure they don’t leave out too much from the manga, Season 2 will introduce the Alabasta Arc, with Season 3 completing the story.
With Season 2 almost here, the show is releasing individual episode title cards. Interestingly, one of these cards contains a subtle clue about a Straw Hat Pirate who won’t appear until much later in the story. As Luffy and his crew begin their journey through the Grand Line, they’ll meet a variety of new faces, including Nico Robin, Smoker, Princess Vivi, Brogy, Laboon, and Tony Tony Chopper, to name a few. Though many of these characters are already known to fans, the series seems to be handling Brook, the crew’s musician, differently.
Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action Season 2 Will Introduce Rumbar Pirates

I’m so excited to talk about the Rumbar Pirates! They’re going to show up during the Reverse Mountain arc, just before the Straw Hats head into the Grand Line. Their Jolly Roger is this really cool, unusual skull, and you’ll notice a guitar in it, which hints at how much the crew loved music. It’s amazing to think they actually went through Reverse Mountain too, starting their journey there. And get this – one of the Rumbar Pirates was actually Brook! He ended up joining Luffy’s crew later on, which makes their introduction even more special.
Brook’s backstory is closely linked to his previous crew, the Rumbar Pirates, and their relationship with a giant whale named Laboon. Though their full story was only revealed later in the Thriller Bark Arc, hints were dropped earlier. Seeing the Rumbar Pirates is important because it explains Brook’s past and what he hopes to achieve. Although Brook’s fellow musician won’t appear immediately, fans will soon learn about his history through flashbacks involving his old crew.
