I’m excited to hear that Netflix’s One Piece will be back in 2026! The second season promises a lot of new and returning villains as the crew sails the Grand Line. While Crocodile seems like a major threat, pulling the strings from behind the scenes, it looks like Wapol might be the biggest challenge they face. We’re finally going to see Luffy meet Tony Tony Chopper on Drum Island, but they’ll have to contend with Wapol first. Netflix just released a look at Wapol, and he looks exactly like he does in the original manga and anime – a truly faithful adaptation!
If you need a quick reminder, Rob Colletti will be playing the character Wapol in the live-action version of One Piece. Although this is his first time appearing in a live-action anime, Colletti previously had a significant role in the film The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel to The Sopranos. A major strength of this One Piece adaptation is how closely it follows the original story, thanks to the involvement of creator Eiichiro Oda as an Executive Producer. As you can see in the first look at Colletti as Wapol, the Netflix series is clearly committed to staying faithful to the source material.
Known in royal circles across the Grand Line, King Wapol emerges from the shadows!

A Villain Who Has A Never-Ending Stomach
Wapol, nicknamed “Tin Plate,” appears to be made of metal, but his real strength lies in his ability to eat anything – and gain its properties! After consuming the Baku Baku no Mi Devil Fruit, the ruler of Drum Island can devour objects and then transform parts of his body to mimic what he’s eaten, even creating weapons. While he looks funny, Wapol is a serious threat. Seeing his powers animated is impressive, and fans are eagerly awaiting to see them in action, as he wasn’t shown in the initial trailers for season two.
Fans of the anime One Piece can look forward to the second season premiering on Netflix on March 10th of next year. Before then, Netflix is teasing glimpses of some of the show’s key villains. This week, they’ve been sharing daily previews of characters like Mr. 3 and Crocodile, who haven’t been fully revealed yet. With actors David Dastmalchian and Joe Manganiello bringing these popular villains to life, fans are eagerly anticipating seeing the Baroquework members in action.
