Each year, it’s once more when One Piece marks its serialization with an extravagant event, sharing updates on all the latest and forthcoming projects within the franchise. This year’s One Piece Day certainly didn’t fall short of expectations. Among other announcements, one of the most thrilling unveilings at One Piece Day ’25 was undeniably the sneak peek into Season 2 of the Netflix live-action series.
Though a specific release date past the 2026 launch period remains undisclosed, the latest trailer for Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action series “One Piece” has certainly rekindled fan anticipation for the upcoming episodes. The new trailer offers fans their initial peeks at several new characters such as Nico Robin, Captain Smoker, and notably, Princess Vivi, who will be portrayed by “Bridgerton” actress Charithra Chandran in this version. Besides Robin, this casting choice is one that fans have eagerly awaited, and the Season 2 trailer at last unveils Vivi in her resplendent form as Miss Wednesday.
Live-Action Vivi Finally Makes An Appearance in One Piece’s New Trailer
Just like other new characters in the trailer, Vivi only appears briefly, but her short appearance gives fans an idea of what’s coming. Although some were unsure about her casting, the latest teaser makes it easier for fans to visualize Charithra Chandran as Vivi, and she seems ideally suited for the role. The live-action version of Vivi sports a slightly darker shade of teal hair with dark roots to match Chandran’s skin tone better. While some may dislike this change, it could be a strategic move, as a light blue wig identical to Vivi’s original hair color might have appeared unnatural on Chandran.
As for the rest, her appearance, particularly the jacket, closely matches the original one. Vivi is also wearing her twin swords, with the main differences being the top which appears to align more with the striped anime version rather than the odd spiral top from the manga. The new trailer offers a sneak peek of Vivi in action, suggesting fight sequences as impressive as the first season. Although some fans might have reservations at this point, it’s clear that Charithra Chandran will undoubtedly win everyone over with her charm when Season 2 of the live-action One Piece series debuts.
