A new trailer for Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again arrived sooner than usual. Most shows release trailers around the middle of a season to keep current viewers engaged and attract new ones. This trailer comes after only three episodes of the eight-episode season have been released.
The new teaser is incredibly exciting! It showcases several guest stars we’ve been waiting for and includes a major reveal that will impact both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the old Netflix Marvel shows. We also get a sneak peek at The Punisher: One Last Kill, a new feature coming to Disney+ right after Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finishes.
You can find everything below, but be warned: this trailer reveals several major plot points that some viewers might prefer to discover on their own.
Bullseye & Jessica Jones Return in New Born Again Season 2 Trailer
The trailer’s opening scene introduces Dex Pointdexter, also known as Bullseye (Wilson Bethel). He lures a S.W.A.T. team into a diner, much like the Riddler did in The Batman, and then skillfully defeats them using only items found in the diner—even crafting a makeshift blowgun. He leaves a bloody bullseye symbol as his signature. This immediately establishes that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will feature significantly more intense action and impressive fight choreography.
Following the short preview, the trailer returns to the artistic and abstract style seen previously for Season 2. The main characters – Matt Murdock, Karen Page, Wilson Fisk, and Vanessa – all appear to be facing difficult situations. The trailer hints at a city-wide uprising in New York City, reminiscent of V for Vendetta, with people marching while wearing Daredevil masks. At one point, Kingpin even seems to physically fight protestors who are dressed as Daredevil. The footage also makes it clear that Kingpin and his team won’t surrender easily and will put up a violent fight.
The biggest news is that Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones is starting a new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a mother. It appears villains are targeting her daughter, a storyline taken directly from the Marvel comics. This connects to another recent announcement: Mike Colter will return as Luke Cage in Born Again Season 3. In the comics, Luke Cage is the father of Jessica Jones’s daughter, Danielle, hinting at a possible family reunion for the Defenders in the MCU.
The Punisher Gets One Kill
Based on a short preview from a special feature on The Punisher: One Last Kill, it appears a member of the Gnucci crime family (featured in a Marvel Comics storyline from the 2000s) is no longer with us. Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, as the Punisher, is heavily armed, wearing armor, and prepared for a fight, though he could definitely use a haircut and a shave.
You can now watch Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2, and The Punisher: One Last Kill exclusively on Disney+. Join the conversation and share your thoughts on everything Marvel with other fans on the ComicBook Forum!
