Epic Games Store is currently giving away a popular game for free as part of The Game Awards. One of the benefits of PC gaming is the access to affordable or free games. Steam frequently offers huge discounts on major titles, and if you’re open to using multiple platforms, the Epic Games Store regularly provides free games. These aren’t obscure titles either; they’re often well-known games that might encourage you to use the Epic Games Store more often. For example, Grand Theft Auto V was offered for free there in the past.
Epic Games is currently giving away the popular game Hogwarts Legacy for free until December 18th! Once you claim it, the game is yours to keep forever. It’s a simple process – you just need an Epic Games account (many players already have one through Fortnite). Log in to the Epic Games launcher on your computer to claim it. Even if you don’t have a PC right now, it’s worth grabbing the game so you’ll have it ready to play if you ever get access to the Epic Games Store, like on a future Xbox if the rumors are true!
Hogwarts Legacy Is Free to Own on PC Right Now

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I have to say Hogwarts Legacy really delivered! Even though it’s been out for almost three years now, it still feels incredible that we finally got a game where you actually get to be a student at Hogwarts – it was a dream come true. The gameplay wasn’t revolutionary or anything, but it was exactly what fans wanted and it hit all the right notes. Plus, it’s been a massive success – over 30 million copies sold by early 2025! It’s easily one of the best-selling games ever, and I’m so glad it did so well.
A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is currently being made. Details are scarce, and it will probably be a year or two before we get a first look, but it’s expected to be even more expansive and improved than the original. Considering how successful the first game was, Warner Bros. will almost certainly invest heavily in its development. If you haven’t played Hogwarts Legacy yet, the current giveaway on Epic Games is a great opportunity to try it, and will help pass the time while we wait for Hogwarts Legacy 2.
