Free League Publishing’s Dragonbane is the English version of the well-known Swedish tabletop RPG, Drakar Och Demoner. Since its release in 2023, Dragonbane has become a favorite among fantasy tabletop RPG players. Now, a new game is joining the family! Trudvang started as a campaign setting within an older RPG, but Free League is now releasing it as a complete, standalone game called Dragonbane: Trudvang. If you’re a fan of games like Valheim, this is one to watch.
The Kickstarter campaign for Dragonbane: Trudvang launched today, February 17th, and has already exceeded expectations! It was fully funded in just four minutes, and pledges continue to pour in. As of this writing, the campaign has raised over $473,600 – more than 16 times its $27,923 goal. Clearly, fans of the original Dragonbane are excited to return to this well-loved world of “deep forests and endless mystery.”
Dragonbane: Trudvang Brings A New Standalone Game to the Dragonbane Universe
The latest tabletop Kickstarter is generating a lot of buzz thanks to Free League Publishing, a company known for high-quality roleplaying game materials. They’ve previously created RPGs based on popular franchises like ALIEN and The Lord of the Rings, as well as Dragonbane, which has built them a dedicated fanbase. Their new game, Trudvang, is set in a unique Nordic world and is compatible with the 2023 edition of Dragonbane, though owning Dragonbane isn’t required to play.
Dragonbane: Trudvang is a new standalone roleplaying game built on the Dragonbane rules system, but set in the world of Trudvang. It introduces new elements like family lineages, professions, and special heroic abilities tailored to this setting, as well as a unique magic system. Along with the main rulebook, a bestiary, a lore guide, and a four-part campaign will be available at launch, providing everything players need to begin their adventures.
Trudvang is a fantasy world with a rich backstory, originally created as a setting for the Swedish role-playing game Dragonbane in the early 2000s. Now, RPG expert Magnus Seter is giving it a fresh update. Heavily influenced by Nordic myths and culture, Trudvang will especially appeal to players who enjoy Norse-themed games such as Valheim.

Hey everyone, just wanted to give you a heads-up about this awesome new tabletop RPG, Dragonbane: Trudvang! Their Kickstarter started on February 17th and runs until March 19th, and they’ve already smashed their funding goal, which is fantastic news.
