I’m so excited! On March 19th, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is coming back to Netflix with Steel Ball Run! This next part of the story follows Johnny Joester and Gyro Zeppeli as they race horses across America, all hoping to achieve their biggest dreams. But that’s not all – get this, JoJo isn’t stopping there! They’ve announced another live-action adaptation is in the works, and it’s going to be a completely new story, something we’ve never seen in the manga before! It’s a huge surprise and I can’t wait to see what they do with it.
The popular series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has seen a few live-action adaptations, but the most extensive has centered around the character Kishibe Rohan. Beyond a multi-episode live-action series, Rohan’s story was also told in two full-length films, Rohan au Louvre and Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan: At a Confessional, which followed the manga artist’s quest for inspiration. The next installment will be different, focusing on Rohan’s editor, Izumi Kyoka. This new television episode, titled “Izumi Kyoka Does Not Shut Up,” features an original story penned by the series creator, Hirohiko Araki.
Who is Izumi Kyoka?

Izumi’s situation feels more dangerous than anything we’ve seen in the series, because she doesn’t have a Stand like Kishibe Rohan. This side story leans heavily into the supernatural, focusing on strange events as Rohan seeks inspiration for his manga. While it’s possible Hirohiko Araki might give Kyoka a Stand later on, it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Actress Marie Iitoyo recently talked about her upcoming special and her involvement with the series. She’s been working on ‘Kishibe Rohan’ for seven years and was surprised to be asked to play the lead role, Izumi Kyoka. This new installment features an original story, with script collaboration from Hirohiko Araki, and promises to reveal a fresh side of Kyoka. The episodes were created with a new team, but the same dedication to Rohan’s world remains. Kyoka is described as a bright and optimistic character, and viewers are wondering what kind of supernatural challenge she’ll face—especially since she’s never encountered anything supernatural before! The story will explore how she solves a problem without Rohan’s help, and it seems she won’t be backing down from the challenge.
