Insomniac Games, the developer of Marvel’s Wolverine, has hinted at releasing new gameplay footage soon. After revealing the game last year, Insomniac stated they wouldn’t share much more information until Spring 2026. Now that Spring 2026 is here, fans are eager to see the game again. Insomniac hasn’t announced a specific date, but they’ve confirmed that a new look at the game is coming very soon.
Insomniac recently announced on social media that they plan to share more gameplay footage of Marvel’s Wolverine this spring. They explained that they’re waiting to reveal more of the game before starting pre-orders. This means pre-orders will likely become available shortly after the gameplay reveal on the PlayStation Store and at other stores.
It’s a bit unexpected that the recent Wolverine showcase didn’t reveal a release date, but that’s because Insomniac and PlayStation already announced it almost a month ago: the game will be available on September 15th. While it was unusual to share the launch date without any new gameplay footage, it seems we won’t have to wait much longer to see the game in action.
Wolverine Is Set to Be PS5’s Biggest Exclusive of 2026

PlayStation is counting on Marvel’s Wolverine to be a major hit this year, as it’s expected to be the biggest game released only on PS5. While other exclusive titles like Saros, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and Phantom Blade Zero are also anticipated, excitement for Wolverine is much higher, largely because of the popularity of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.
Although Wolverine could be PlayStation’s biggest exclusive game this year, Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be the standout release on PS5 in 2026. With nearly 100 million PS5 consoles already sold, most players will likely buy the highly anticipated GTA VI for PlayStation. This makes for a potentially huge finish to the year for PS5, boosted by both GTA VI and Marvel’s Wolverine.
