New Nintendo Switch Game Serves Up a Nostalgic Callback to a Beloved 2000s Classic

If you grew up with internet games, you probably spent time playing Flash games in the 2000s. Lots of websites offered free, simple games like Papa’s Pizzeria and Bloons Tower Defense, and many of us spent hours playing them. While some of those games are now available on computers, it’s tough to find others that are still playable. Luckily, a new game coming to PC and Nintendo Switch seems like it will offer a similar, fun experience.

If you’re active in online gaming communities, you’ve probably seen people looking for games similar to Diner Dash. It’s hard to find a perfect match these days, but when I saw Food Truck Chef: Full Course Edition, I immediately thought of it! This new cooking game looks like a fantastic update to the classic Flash games we all enjoyed, and it’s coming out on April 23rd.

Food Truck Chef: Full Course Edition Delivers Cooking Chaos on PC and Nintendo Switch

Get ready to hit the road with Food Truck Chef: Full Course Edition, launching soon after its announcement earlier in 2025! Developed by Nukebox Studio and published by Soedesco – known for games like Magical Bakery and Garden Witch Life – this simulation game puts you in the driver’s seat of your own travelling food truck. You’ll play as Emily, exploring 19 different locations and tailoring your menu to local preferences, from BBQ Street to Donut and Waffle Street. Adapt to each region’s tastes to succeed in the mobile restaurant business!

As you progress and unlock new areas, you’ll discover even more recipes – there are over 800 dishes in total! Each location presents a fresh challenge, with more than 700 unique levels to play. The game reminds me of the fun, simple Flash games from the 2000s, and that’s a good thing! You can see what I mean by watching the new release trailer below.

The game’s graphics are basic, reminiscent of older Flash games, but the gameplay seems perfect for fans of fast-paced restaurant management games like Diner Dash. If you’re unsure, you can try a free demo of Food Truck Chef on Steam and Nintendo Switch to experience the fun for yourself before purchasing.

The game Food Truck Chef: Full Course Edition will be available on PC through Steam and Nintendo Switch starting April 23rd. Players with a Switch 2 console shouldn’t experience any problems, as the game is confirmed to work well on the newer Switch models. It will cost $12.99 on the Nintendo eShop, and is expected to be the same price on Steam. Considering the amount of content included, that’s a good value for the price.
