October is almost over, but there’s still plenty of spooky fun to be had! This week brings two new scary series, plus lots of options for families and the return of a beloved romantic comedy. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy.

The Hand That Rocks the Cradle – October 22 (Hulu)
The 1992 thriller *The Hand That Rocks The Cradle* topped the box office for a month. Now, a new version starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead (originally Rebecca De Mornay) is coming to Hulu, and Disney is likely hoping it will be just as popular. The story centers around a nanny who seeks revenge on a family she feels has mistreated her.

Lazarus – October 22 (Prime Video)
Harlan Coben is a popular author known for his mystery and thriller novels. He recently partnered with Amazon, and their collaboration resulted in the successful adaptation of his book, *Shelter*. Their latest project, *Lazarus*, is now available on Prime Video. The series stars Bill Nighy and Sam Claflin and follows a man who starts seeing dead people after his father’s apparent suicide.

Nobody Wants This, Season 2 – October 23 (Netflix)
The popular romantic comedy, starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, is back for a second season! Watch as this beloved couple navigates the joys and challenges of their relationship. Despite its name, it’s clear fans are eager to see more!

Weapons – October 24 (HBO Max)
Just announced last Friday, the critically acclaimed 2024 film *Weapons* is coming to HBO Max this week! If you’re a subscriber, get ready for an exciting and action-packed movie experience.

LEGO Frozen: Operations Puffins – October 24 (Disney+)
While fans will have to wait a few more years for *Frozen 3*, there’s new *Frozen* content coming soon! Disney+ will release *LEGO Frozen: Operation Puffins*, a new animated collaboration with LEGO. In this story, the Duke of Weselton tries to attack Arendelle using puffins as his army. The original voice actors – Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad – are all returning for this new adventure.

A House of Dynamite – October 24 (Netflix)
The director of the acclaimed film *Zero Dark Thirty* brings you *A House of Dynamite*. Starring Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Jared Harris, and others, this new thriller centers on a potential ICBM attack on the United States. With limited time, the government races to determine the best course of action and avert a global catastrophe.

IT: Welcome to Derry, Season 1 – October 26 (HBO Max)
Many consider *IT* to be Stephen King’s masterpiece, and its story was so expansive it needed two movies to tell it. But there’s more to the tale! Director Andy Muschietti is back with *IT: Welcome to Derry*, a prequel that delves into the origins of the evil that plagued the town years earlier. You’ll need an HBO Max subscription to watch it.
With Halloween just around the corner, you can expect some frightfully fun new shows and movies to appear on your go-to streaming services next week. Stay tuned to find out what’s being added to Netflix, Disney+, and more!
