New PlayStation Plus Game for May 2026 Announced Early

Sony has given players an early look at one of the free games coming to PlayStation Plus in May 2026. The full lineup of free games for May will be announced next week, on May 5th, and will replace the current games – including Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, and Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream. But before the official announcement, Sony revealed one title subscribers can look forward to.

Sony originally announced back in February during their PlayStation State of Play broadcast that the classic game Time Crisis would be coming to PS Plus in May. This updated version of the 1997 PlayStation game will be added to the PS Plus Classics catalog, meaning only Premium members will have access. Like other older PlayStation games recently released, Time Crisis will be playable on both PS5 and PS4, and will also be available for individual purchase on the PlayStation Store starting May 19th.

Sony briefly mentioned a port of Time Crisis during a recent State of Play, and didn’t share many details, meaning many PlayStation Plus subscribers may not know it’s coming. However, it’s confirmed the game will support gyro aiming on both PS5 and PS4, recreating the feel of the original game’s light gun controls. This new version will also include features like quick saves, a rewind function, and visual improvements.

We’ll find out the full list of games coming to PS Plus in May soon. Sony will announce the free games for May tomorrow, April 29th, and reveal the games being added to the Game Catalog on May 13th. We’ll share all the details with you here on ComicBook as soon as they’re announced.
