The past few weeks in Pokemon Go haven’t been very exciting, with a lot of events feeling familiar. While the surprise appearance of Mimikyu for April Fool’s Day was fun, the Memories in Motion event has mostly felt like a repeat of things we’ve seen before. There are some new things coming, like the April GO Pass and the introduction of Galarian Pokemon later in the month. However, a slower pace can actually be good for players who want to catch up on Pokemon they may have missed – especially rare, costumed Shiny Pokemon.
On April 4th, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, Pokemon Go is holding a special Fashion Raid Day event. While there aren’t any new outfits for Pokemon this time, it’s a fantastic chance to find Shiny versions! All 11 costumed Pokemon returning for the event can be Shiny, making it a good opportunity to catch rare ones. Plus, each costumed Pokemon will have an increased chance of appearing as Shiny.
All Pokemon Go Fashion Raid Day Costumed Bosses with Boosted Shiny Odds

This Fashion Raid Day focuses on Pokemon wearing costumes appearing more often in Raids. While this might not be ideal for players who prefer finding Pokemon in the wild, the event will give out 6 free Raid Passes just by spinning Photo Disks at Gyms. This means you can participate in several Raids without needing to buy passes. Plus, the limit for using Remote Raid Passes will be raised to 20, giving you even more opportunities to join Raids.
During Fashion Raid Day (which happens from 2 PM to 5 PM local time), you’ll have a better chance of finding these costumed Pokémon in Raids.
One-Star Raids
- Blitzle with a collar
- Croagunk in a backwards baseball cap
- Diglett with a tophat
- Minccino wearing bows and glasses
- Shinx in a tophat
- Sneasel with a beanie and sunglasses
- Wooper in a beanie
Three-Star Raids
- Absol wearing sunglasses
- Butterfree wearing a bow
- Dragonite with sunglasses and a bowtie
- Kirlia with a tophat

All 11 Raid Boss Pokémon featured in the event have a chance of appearing as Shiny, and they’ll be easier to find than usual. Raids will refresh approximately every 30 minutes, giving you multiple opportunities to battle each boss and try to catch the special Shiny Pokémon in costumes.
You should be able to handle One-Star Raids on your own without much trouble, letting you complete several quickly. Three-Star Raids are a little more challenging – some bosses are easier than others. As long as you have a good team and choose Pokémon types that are strong against the boss, you should be able to win.
Besides offering better odds for finding costumed Pokémon, Fashion Raid Day will also increase your chances of getting Rare Candy XL. You’ll also earn 50% more XP and twice the usual Stardust by battling in Raids. While this event doesn’t introduce any new Pokémon or significantly change wild spawns, it’s still a fun way to spend a few hours playing Pokémon Go.
