New Scream 7 Trailer Reveals More of Sidney’s Return & Fuels Ghostface Identity Theories

As a huge Scream fan, I’m getting seriously excited – Scream 7 is just around the corner, and Neve Campbell is finally back as Sydney Prescott! We’ve been waiting for a good trailer, and it finally dropped, giving us a much clearer idea of what the new movie is about and who’s hiding behind that Ghostface mask. Ever since they announced a bunch of returning cast members – characters we thought were gone for good – the buzz has been incredible. It sounds like this one is really going back to the roots of the franchise, which is exactly what I wanted to see!

The next installment in the Scream series, Scream 7, will feature the return of Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley, both actors from previous films. Kevin Williamson, who created the Scream franchise, wrote and directed the new movie. A trailer for Scream 7 will debut during the Super Bowl this Sunday, February 8th. This will also be the first Scream movie released in IMAX.

Scream 7 Trailer Primes the Franchise for an Explosive Sequel

The next Scream movie is shaping up to be a major event for the series, similar in scope to Avengers: Endgame. It will bring together cast members from both the original films and the recent sequels, and even include some actors reprising roles of characters who were previously killed off. Neve Campbell is returning as Sidney Prescott, and Courteney Cox will continue her streak of appearing in every Scream film. They’ll be joined by Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding, who played Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin in the last two movies. Surprisingly, David Arquette is also coming back as Dewey Riley, even though his character died in the 2022 sequel.

The next installment will introduce several new cast members, including Joel McHale as Mark Evans, Sidney’s husband, and Isabel May as Tatum Evans, Sidney’s daughter – a nod to Rose McGowan’s character from the original movie. They’ll be joined by McKenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Ethan Embry, and Mark Consuelos, who are also new to the series.

The next Scream movie will be without two of its biggest stars: Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. Barrera was reportedly let go after publicly supporting the Free Palestine movement, though there’s some disagreement about the timing of her departure. Her exit, after appearing in the last two films, upset many fans and fellow actors. Following Barrera’s removal, Ortega also decided not to return, and director Christopher Landon subsequently left the project as well.

It’s unclear how the recent issues will impact the sequel’s performance in theaters. Many fans have said they want to support the fired actress and may not see the film. However, the last two Scream movies were very successful, showing there’s a strong audience for the series, and losing that support could potentially end the franchise.
