New Supergirl Movie Footage Spoils Superman’s Cameo (And Teases a Time Jump in the DCU)

The DC Universe is building momentum for a big second year. While 2025 brought us a new Superman movie and kicked off the universe created by James Gunn, along with the second season of Peacemaker which hinted at future storylines, this year promises even more. We’ll see the HBO series Lanterns, introducing two popular Green Lanterns, and the second film from DC Studios, Supergirl. Following a brief appearance by Milly Alcock as the hero in Superman, Supergirl will get her own dedicated movie this summer.

James Gunn announced on social media that the full trailer for the new Supergirl movie will be released tomorrow. He also shared a short preview of the trailer, giving fans a first look at new footage. The clip shows a glimpse of Kara Zor-El’s chaotic home life and a scene between her and David Corenswet as Superman. While it was already known Superman would be in the film, this preview suggests how much screen time he might have. You can watch the teaser below.

Supergirl will call you back tomorrow. #Supergirl lands in theaters June 26.
