Fans can look forward to more episodes of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball coming to Hulu later this month. A new trailer hints that Season 2 will be even more expansive. The show made a surprise comeback after seven years, not as a continuation of the original series, but as a brand new show picking up the story where the Cartoon Network version left off. With the original creator back on board, the first season recently premiered.
Season 2 of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball premieres on Hulu December 22nd, and it’s bringing a fresh new look for Gumball and Darwin! The first trailer shows the duo aiming for bigger and more exciting adventures than ever before. You can watch the trailer below to get a sneak peek before the premiere.
What to Know for The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball Season 2
All episodes of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball Season 2 will be available on Hulu (and through Hulu on Disney+) in the U.S. starting December 22nd. Fans outside the U.S. will see a different release schedule and premiere date on Cartoon Network. The series is created and executive produced by Ben Bocquelet, the original creator of The Amazing World of Gumball, working with Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain are executive producers and series directors, with Xav Clarke composing the music and Joe Sparrow as the art director.
The new season of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball has a fresh cast! Alkaio Thiele now voices Gumball, Hero Hunter is Darwin, and Kinza Syed Khan plays Anais. Luckily, Teresa Gallagher and Dan Russell are back as Nicole and Richard Watterson. The show continues the story from where it left off, and it seems a major unanswered question from the previous season will finally be addressed.
Is Gumball Finally Going to Follow Up on That Cliffhanger?
The last episode of The Amazing World of Gumball ended with a big cliffhanger: Gumball’s enemy, Rob, appeared from a strange dimension called the Void. Fans have been wondering about this for seven years, and the new series hasn’t explained it yet. However, the show’s creator, Ben Bocquelet, told Paste Magazine that an upcoming episode will finally address what happened with Rob and resolve the mystery.
According to creator Bocquelet, the upcoming episode will be challenging for the characters, but also enjoyable and surprising. While he’s not revealing how the latest cliffhanger will be resolved, and the new trailer remains tight-lipped, it’s still a great reason to anticipate the new season, which arrives later this month.
