New Wolfenstein 3 Report Teases Upcoming Reveal

According to a recent report, MachineGames is working on Wolfenstein 3, and an announcement could come later this year. The critically acclaimed Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus came out in 2017, leading many to anticipate a sequel. However, MachineGames instead released the cooperative game Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Youngblood didn’t perform as well, and the series has been quiet since. But now, it seems like fans hoping for Wolfenstein 3 might finally get some news soon.

A recent report from Windows Central confirms that MachineGames is actively developing Wolfenstein 3. The studio is also reportedly working on a separate multiplayer game. While a release date for Wolfenstein 3 hasn’t been announced, it’s expected to launch around the same time as the Wolfenstein TV series coming to Prime Video next year. The game could be officially revealed at Xbox’s summer showcase event later this year.

Wolfenstein 3 Might Still Be Years Away

Okay, so it sounds like Wolfenstein 3 is actually happening, which is awesome! But don’t get too excited yet – it’s probably still a long way off. They’re apparently aiming to release the game around the same time as the Wolfenstein TV show, and from what I’m hearing, that show isn’t even close to being made yet. Production hasn’t started, so we’re probably looking at two or three years, at least, before we can get our hands on the game.

Considering MachineGames recently launched Indiana Jones and the Great Circle just over a year ago, even if they started working on Wolfenstein 3 immediately afterward, the game is likely still in early development. While fans might have to wait longer than they’d like, it’s still great news that Wolfenstein 3 is in the works.
