It’s exclusive to the Microsoft Store, meaning you can also play it on PC, but it’s not currently available on platforms like Steam or Epic Games Store. Whether the game will ever come to other consoles is still unknown. To access it, you’ll need an Xbox Game Pass subscription, specifically the Ultimate tier.
The newest game added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is called Pigeon Simulator, developed by tinyBuild. However, initial reviews suggest it hasn’t been well-received. While it doesn’t have a Metacritic score yet, user reviews on the Microsoft Store give it just over 2 out of 5 stars after nearly 200 ratings, indicating it’s not a hit as an Xbox Series X exclusive.
About the Game
Pigeon Simulator was first revealed in 2021, meaning fans have been waiting four years for its release. The game lets you play as pigeons… who happen to be secret government agents!
The game puts you in the role of an agent with a secret organization dedicated to finding and dealing with dangerous, strange occurrences that are frightening the citizens of New Squawk City. Your mission is to track down these threats, figure out what they are, stop them, and then safely remove them.
Despite what the game’s name and similar titles like Goat Simulator might suggest, this isn’t a silly, free-form game focused on causing chaos. Many players have pointed out that it’s actually quite challenging. It’s worth mentioning, though, that some negative reviews aren’t about the game itself, but rather complaints about a recent price increase for the subscription service it’s part of.
We’re not sure how long Pigeon Simulator will be on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but while it’s included with the subscription, members can get it for 20% off its regular price of $14.99.
