Next-Gen Xbox Expected to Be More Powerful Than PS6

As a big Xbox fan, I’m already starting to think about the next generation of consoles, even though this one feels pretty new! It’s been a strange few years with the pandemic and people sticking with older consoles, but it looks like both Xbox and PlayStation are hinting at what’s coming. From what I’ve heard, the next Xbox might be pricier than the PS6, but there’s likely going to be a catch – maybe some really powerful features to justify the cost. Honestly, nobody really knows what the future holds for consoles yet, but it’s exciting to speculate!

Today’s consoles already deliver incredibly realistic graphics and immersive game worlds. Improving performance will likely be a focus for the next generation of Xbox and PlayStation. A major challenge will be finding the right balance between powerful hardware and affordability. However, there’s growing speculation that Xbox is planning something different than PlayStation. Instead of a traditional console, the next Xbox might be a hybrid device that blends console and PC technology. This could allow Xbox to run games from platforms like Steam, giving players more choices and customization options.

Next Xbox Will Likely Be More Powerful than PS6

A recent report by Moore’s Law Is Dead supports the idea that the next Xbox will use a powerful new AMD processor called the Magnus APU. This APU is expected to be the most powerful ever put in a gaming console, potentially giving the Xbox an edge over the PS6, though it might also make the console more expensive.

He also predicted that this increased power would likely result in the Xbox focusing more on PC gamers. While the PlayStation 6 might achieve 4K resolution at 120 frames per second, the new Xbox could potentially reach 4K at 144 frames per second, a difference most noticeable for players using monitors rather than large TVs.

He explained that the new console will be more powerful than the PS6, but also cost more. This is due to its larger size, advanced internal components—likely including bridge dies and more RAM—and its intended functionality as both a gaming console and a PC.

Could the next Xbox cost more than $1,000? According to Moore’s Law Is Dead, it’s a possibility. He suggests it would be relatively affordable compared to building a gaming PC, but it would be a high-end console competing with expensive, pre-built PCs. Xbox seems to be aiming for a powerful, mass-produced console that could also appeal to PC gamers. Recent reports, and comments from Microsoft, disprove rumors that Xbox is abandoning console development.
