Images of the cover art for the new Tomb Raider game, reportedly called Legacy of Atlantis, appeared online earlier today. The art features a redesigned Lara Croft and seems to confirm rumors that this game is a remake of the original. While some questioned the leak’s authenticity, the character’s pose matches a previously released teaser image from The Game Awards.
A trailer for the new game recently appeared online, confirming its existence. Amazon quickly filed a copyright claim to remove the trailer (though copies can still be found on sites like Reddit). Amazon is publishing this latest installment, and previously announced it would be the biggest game in the series so far.
There’s been talk that the team who made Shadow of the Tomb Raider at Eidos Montreal is developing the next Tomb Raider game, which is expected to be an open-world adventure. We’ll find out for sure today at The Game Awards, starting at 4:30 PM PST, so check back for updates!
