Nick Reiner was reportedly acting odd the night before his parents’ murders.

According to two sources familiar with the event, a 32-year-old man attended a holiday party hosted by Conan O’Brien on December 13th and interacted with Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner in a way that made some guests uncomfortable, NBC News reports.

According to sources, Nick unexpectedly joined a conversation between Bill Hader, a former cast member of Saturday Night Live, and two other guests. When Bill politely asked for privacy, Nick reportedly just stood there and stared before abruptly walking away.

TopMob News has reached out to a rep for Bill for comment but has not yet heard back.

According to reports in The Los Angeles Times and People, Nick also had a heated argument with the director of When Harry Met Sally and his wife, in addition to his encounter with the SNL star at the party.

Following the discovery of Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, Los Angeles police arrested Nick on suspicion of murder. He is being held in jail without the possibility of bail.

After completing their investigation, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman stated that Nick will be charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

The district attorney announced that the defendant is also accused of using a deadly weapon – a knife. If convicted, he could face either life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

Hochman said Nick will go through a standard medical check-up after being arrested, and then he’ll have a court date.

As soon as doctors say he’s fit to appear in court, he’ll be formally charged. Then, he’ll have the opportunity to say whether he’s guilty or not guilty.

Attorney Alan Jackson, known for previously representing Harvey Weinstein and Karen Read, confirmed to TopMob News on December 16th that he will be representing Nick in this case. He stated he wouldn’t be making any further comments beyond basic details about the legal process.
