Devon Werkheiser is opening up about former castmate Tylor Chase.
I was absolutely devastated to see that video of Tylor, who used to be on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide with me, living on the streets in Riverside, California. It really broke my heart, and I felt I needed to share what’s happening to raise awareness.
As someone who’s followed young Tylor’s career, I was so saddened to hear the news. Devon, who many of us know as Ned from Nickelodeon, shared with TMZ how incredibly sensitive, sweet, and kind Tylor always was. It’s just heartbreaking to see him going through such a difficult time.
In a popular social media video from December 20th, the person filming asked Tylor if he’d been on Disney Channel. He corrected them, saying he was actually on Nickelodeon. When asked what show, he identified it as Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.
Although Devon hasn’t spoken to Tylor – who played Martin on Ned’s Declassified – since the show ended in 2007, he understands that Tylor may have been dealing with addiction and mental health issues.
Devon said it’s been nearly 20 years since he last saw Tylor, shortly after their time on the show finished. He added that dealing with serious addiction and mental health problems is incredibly difficult, especially when the person struggling doesn’t want to accept help.
Devon, 34, explained that making things right is a constant challenge. It takes a lot of help, understanding, and time to fix things as they go wrong.
The cohost of the Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide also mentioned that while Tylor’s situation needs to be approached with care, he’s hopeful the increased attention might ultimately benefit him.

Devon expressed hope that this situation will bring someone forward who can provide Tylor with the help and resources he needs to recover. “We just want to see him doing well,” Devon added.
Recently, Shaun Weiss, who starred in Mighty Ducks, has volunteered to help Tylor get his life back on track.
I’ve been getting a lot of messages about Tylor Chase, and I wanted to share an update. I connected with some friends in the field, and we were able to secure a bed for him in a detox program. Even better, we’ve also found a place where he can continue with long-term treatment, which is fantastic news. It’s so important to get people the help they need, and I’m glad we could make this happen.
Shaun added, “All we need to do now is find him.”
