Nicole Kidman thinks Taylor Swift’s T-Shirt at the NBA Finals was practically magic.
Taylor Swift went to Game 4 in New York City with sisters Alana and Este Haim, and the trio wore playful New York Knicks shirts. Actress Reese Witherspoon responded to Este Haim’s shirt, which cleverly combined her name with “Knicks” to read “Knickole Kidman.”
She showed her support on Instagram Stories with a post about the trio at the game. She also shared a video of them dancing while wearing matching shirts, set to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and wrote, “My girls! I just wanna have fun!”
Nicole was thrilled to receive a special mention, and she wasn’t the only one excited. By the end of the June 10th basketball game – a thrilling comeback win for the Knicks against the San Antonio Spurs – fans could already buy copies of the T-shirts featured during the game.
Este shared that the now-famous shirts were homemade. Taylor suggested the idea—she wore a shirt saying “Stevie Knicks” while Alana’s said “Knickleback”—and Este made them.
Haim’s bandmate recently shared with Vogue that Taylor Swift sent her the perfect request for an amateur screen printer. Swift texted, asking if she could get a custom shirt made to wear to a game. The bandmate said she was thrilled, explaining, ‘I thought you would never ask, this is my dream!’
Mariska Hargitay, the star of Law & Order: SVU and a frequent courtside attendee at Madison Square Garden, attended the game with her close friend Taylor Swift, who had suggested they go together.

Este explained that she and Taylor always made sure to have extra shirts on hand to give to friends. She was especially thrilled that Mariska Hargitay also wanted to wear one, saying it meant a lot because she’s a huge fan and thinks Mariska is a wonderful person. Este felt this shared experience really brought them closer.
Being a Knicks fan has always been special, but that victory felt different – it really cemented the connection between all of us. Honestly, I’ve never felt such a strong sense of community! I remember thinking during the game how glad I was we’d brought extra hugs to share – I ended up giving out more than ever before, and it was just an unbelievably amazing night.
