Nikki Glaser is giving Conan O’Brien two thumbs up on his 2026 Oscars hosting job.
The 41-year-old, who hosted the Golden Globes in January 2026, complimented the comedian for doing a great job hosting Hollywood’s biggest awards show. She thought he did an excellent job as the master of ceremonies during the event.
Let me tell you, as someone who keeps a close eye on these things, I was at the Vanity Fair Oscars party and I spoke with Nikki about the host’s performance. She told me, and she was genuinely excited, that he absolutely nailed it – again! Apparently, she got a sneak peek at his monologue about a week before and was so impressed she immediately told him it was perfect, a total ‘A+’ performance, and that he shouldn’t change a single thing. She really meant it, and honestly, I think everyone agreed!
Even so, the former contestant from Fboy Island observed that the exLate Night* host did update his jokes to make sure his opening monologue stayed current.
News stories quickly become outdated, so it’s important to continually refresh and update information.
The comedian also drew a comparison between hosting the Golden Globes and the Oscars, explaining that the Globes have a more relaxed, comedy-club vibe, while the Oscars present a uniquely challenging atmosphere for humor.
Performing comedy at the Academy Awards is challenging, she said, because the audience is distant and the atmosphere is very formal. People haven’t had much to eat or drink, so they’re hungry, tired, and sober, making it difficult to get a good reaction.

Nikki, who will host the Golden Globes again in 2027, thought Conan did a fantastic job, saying, “He absolutely nailed it.”
The audience appeared to agree, even those playfully targeted by Conan. For example, Timothée Chalamet, nominated for Best Actor, couldn’t resist laughing when the show’s opening joked about his comments on ballet and opera.
“Security is very tight tonight,” Conan explained. “I’ve heard there are worries about potential attacks coming from people involved with both the opera and the ballet.”
As a huge fan who was glued to the Oscars, I felt like even watching at home, we didn’t get everything that happened! While Conan did a great job keeping things flowing on stage, there were definitely some big moments inside the Dolby Theatre that the broadcast didn’t show. So, if you want to know what you missed, I’ve got all the details right here…

By the end of the night, both Ryan Coogler, director of Sinners, and Paul Thomas Anderson, director of One Battle After Another, were celebrating their very first Oscars: Coogler for Best Original Screenplay and PTA for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Kendall Jenner joined Timothée Chalamet at the Oscars, marking her second consecutive year supporting him as a nominee for Best Actor.

As other people at the event began enjoying their snacks, Taylor applauded the casting director of One Battle After Another for receiving the very first Academy Award for Best Casting.

The Frankenstein star made the rounds in between awards.

Weaver struggled to contain her laughter as she and another presenter went on stage to announce the winners for Best Production Design (awarded to Frankenstein) and Best Visual Effects (awarded to Avatar: Fire & Ash).

Infiniti was overjoyed with how her first acting role in One Battle After Another was going.

Mark Sonnenblick attempted to stall the commercial break, but couldn’t prevent it from interrupting his colleague’s acceptance speech for the historic win of Best Original Song.

Although Madison won Best Actress last year, the recent reunion between them was still meaningful and enjoyable.

Okay, so Timothée Chalamet wasn’t alone at the concert! I nearly lost it when I found out his sister was with him and Kendall Jenner! They all sat together in the Marty Supreme row – can you even imagine?! It was like a perfect little family outing, and honestly, it makes me so happy to see him sharing these moments with loved ones. I’m living for it!

This photo isn’t a real emergency – it’s just two actors sharing a quiet moment by the makeup station at the Oscars. Everything’s okay!

The 2003 Best Actress winner didn’t mind whiling away a few more of the hours at the 2026 Oscars.

Leonardo DiCaprio was there to congratulate Jordan as he unexpectedly gained momentum in the final days of voting and ultimately won Best Actor.

This photo was taken on March 10th during a preview event for the Governors Ball at the Ovation Hollywood Complex. It’s a look behind the scenes at where the award winners have their statues engraved – a peek at how everything is prepared.
