Nintendo has given a free Super Mario game to Switch and Switch 2 owners as a surprise gift. Considering how popular Super Mario is with Nintendo fans – and how many people own a Switch – it’s likely a lot of players will enjoy this. Mario is Nintendo’s most famous franchise, and a gaming icon known from games, movies, and merchandise. Nintendo doesn’t usually offer free items, but when they do, Mario is often involved.
Nintendo is offering a free Mario Tennis Fever wristband to Switch and Switch 2 owners through the Nintendo eShop. The offer is available to anyone with 600 Platinum Points – a small amount most players will already have. You earn Platinum Points by completing My Nintendo missions, playing mobile Nintendo games, subscribing to Nintendo Switch Online, and participating in special events. If you’ve used your points on other items, don’t worry, they’re easy to earn! Mario Tennis Fever was released on Switch 2 in February.
Perfect Gift for Mario Tennis Fans
As you can see in the image, this wristband is surprisingly made of 84% cotton – not the cheap plastic you might expect. It also contains 14% polyester and 3% spandex, so there’s a small amount of synthetic material. The wristband measures 3 inches by 3 inches.

This item is available while supplies last, and we expect it to sell out quickly, as free promotional items often do. While restocks sometimes happen, it’s unlikely this one will return, especially since it’s connected to a new and limited Nintendo release, rather than a popular classic. Currently, it’s still available on the Nintendo eShop.
