Nintendo is releasing a new bundle for the Nintendo Switch 2 in early June. For $499.99, you’ll get the console and a digital download of one of three games: Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia. Nintendo is calling this offer the Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle.
As a Nintendo fan, I’m excited about this new bundle! It’s coming out just before the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 goes up on September 1st – they’re saying it’ll jump to $499.99. So, this ‘Choose Your Game Bundle’ won’t be around forever, and honestly, any bundles Nintendo releases after September 1st will probably cost more to reflect the new price. Definitely a good time to grab one if you’re thinking about it!
Nintendo recently announced a price increase for the Switch 2. It previously cost $449.99 in the US, $629.99 in Canada, and €469.99 in Europe, but now costs $499.99, $679.99 CAD, and €499.99 respectively.
I was so excited to hear Nintendo’s latest numbers! They announced that as of March 31st, 2026, they’ve sold almost 20 million Switch 2 consoles – and a big chunk of that, almost 2.49 million, happened just in the last three months! It’s not just the hardware either; they’ve moved over 10.78 million game copies. And get this – Pokémon Pokopia has already sold 4 million copies since it came out! That’s amazing!
The company forecasts a decrease in Nintendo Switch 2 hardware sales next year. They explained that initial sales were very strong, especially right after launch, and that, combined with price adjustments, will likely lead to fewer units sold in the next fiscal year. However, they remain optimistic, believing that even with a decline, second-year sales will still be substantial.
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa recently apologized to customers for increasing prices, explaining that rising manufacturing costs caused by current market conditions forced their hand.
We’re very sorry for the disruption and trouble this will cause our customers. We aimed for broad access, but it became unsustainable to absorb the increasing costs long-term. Unfortunately, the new pricing doesn’t cover all of those increases.
He also explained the decision to predict fewer Switch 2 sales next year. He pointed out that initial sales were exceptionally high because Nintendo had successfully managed its supply chain, ensuring plenty of consoles were available.
We saw record-breaking sales in our first year thanks to improvements we made to our supply chain, he said. Demand remains strong going into the second year, and we’re pleased with how well customers are embracing Switch 2.
