A surprise hit game from 2025 just became available on the Nintendo Switch 2. The new console has already had a fantastic year, with popular titles like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Hades 2 launching soon after its release. While many other great third-party games from last year haven’t yet appeared on the Switch 2, despite fan requests, players can now enjoy one highly anticipated title that’s been released directly on the eShop.
Today marks the global release of Blue Prince on Nintendo Switch 2! Developed by Dogubomb, Blue Prince is a captivating puzzle game with roguelike features, challenging players to solve mysteries within an old manor. Though the concept seems straightforward, many found the game incredibly addictive. It was highly acclaimed, earning the title of not just the best puzzle game of 2025, but one of the year’s best games across all genres.
Just How Good Is This New Switch 2 Game?
If you’re wondering whether Blue Prince is worth checking out on the Switch 2, the answer is a definite yes. It received an incredible average review score of 92/100 on Metacritic when it launched last year. This puts it in the same high regard as Clair Obscure: Expedition 33, and even surpasses the ratings of popular games like Split Fiction, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Donkey Kong Bananza.
As a huge puzzle game fan, I can tell you that Blue Prince is now right up there with the all-time greats. Seriously, it’s earned a place among the most celebrated puzzle games ever made! When I think of games that have reached that same level of critical acclaim, only a few come to mind – things like Portal, Braid, and Return of the Obra Dinn, and even those are in a different class.
If you’re like me and you’ve got a Nintendo Switch 2, and you love a good puzzle game, you need to check out Blue Prince. Seriously, it just dropped on the Switch 2 and it’s on sale right now for only $19.79! The deal doesn’t last forever though – it ends on March 12th, so grab it while you can!
