As a Nintendo fan, I was so happy to hear that Nintendo gave Switch and Switch 2 owners a free $15 gift! Everything’s getting pricier these days, and honestly, I’ve been worried about the Switch 2 getting a price hike like the PS5 and Xbox. Nintendo’s already charging $80 for some of their new Switch games, so any chance to save a little money is amazing, and I definitely took advantage of this!
For a limited time – until April 11th – Target is offering a free $15 Nintendo eShop gift card when you buy a $100 Nintendo eShop gift card. This is a good deal if you already planned to purchase digital games or content for your Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, as you’ll essentially get $15 back on your purchase.
Free Nintendo eShop Gift Card
This deal has been available to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 owners before, but it doesn’t happen as often as it does for Xbox and PlayStation players. It’s actually quite uncommon.
This offer will likely appeal to most Nintendo fans, especially those who regularly purchase digital games from the eShop. The only exceptions are those who strictly buy physical copies or only play free-to-play titles. For everyone else, spending $100 on the eShop will effectively get you a $15 bonus. While $15 isn’t a huge amount, it’s enough to buy a few smaller indie games, or contribute to the cost of a larger game when it’s discounted. You could also use it to save money on a brand new, highly anticipated Nintendo game when it first releases.
If you qualify for this offer, you’ll receive a digital gift card by email, usually within four hours of your purchase. This includes both the gift card you buy and any free gift card you receive with your order. Currently, this promotion is only available online, and it hasn’t been offered in stores before.
