A well-loved action-platformer game that first became available on Nintendo Switch in late 2024 will soon be released on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The Switch is famous for having a huge selection of platformer games, created both by Nintendo and many independent developers. This particular game, developed by a third-party studio, is now expanding its reach to PlayStation consoles sometime next year.
This week, a trailer announced that Antonblast is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Originally released in December 2024, Antonblast is a fast-paced action-platformer similar to the Wario Land series. The game has been a hit on the Nintendo Switch, with players enjoying its vibrant graphics and energetic gameplay. It also received positive reviews, earning an 87/100 score on Metacritic.
Okay, so I’m really excited about Antonblast coming to PlayStation, but honestly, we don’t know a ton yet. The publisher, Joystick Ventures, has only said it’s planned for sometime in 2026 on both PS5 and PS4. And the first teaser trailer? It actually used footage from last year, so it didn’t even show the PlayStation versions! Because of that, I’m guessing we probably won’t see it until later in 2026.
Even though we don’t know exactly when Antonblast will be released, it’s great news for PlayStation players. Games similar to Wario Land have been gaining popularity, with Pizza Tower being another well-known example of this style. However, Pizza Tower isn’t available on PlayStation consoles, and it doesn’t look like it ever will be. So, for PlayStation fans who enjoy this type of gameplay, Antonblast should be a good fit.
