Nintendo is offering a free game trial through its Nintendo Switch Online service. Subscribers can download and play the entire game for 48 hours in 2025, but it won’t be permanently added to their libraries, so they’ll need to play it during that time. Luckily, the game isn’t very long, so it’s entirely playable within the trial period. This offer is available to all Nintendo Switch Online members – you don’t need the more expensive Expansion Pack tier to participate.

Fan-Favorite 2025 Game
Released in 2025, this game is a unique blend of brick-breaking, base-building, and survival elements with roguelite features. Created by Kenny Sun and Friends and published by Devolver Digital, it received excellent scores from critics, ranging from 84 to 89 on Metacritic. However, player reviews tell a slightly different story – while very positive, they haven’t fully reflected the game’s quality. On Steam, where user reviews are available, it currently boasts a 95% approval rating based on over 14,000 reviews, earning it the platform’s highest possible rating: “Overwhelmingly Positive.” The Nintendo eShop doesn’t feature user reviews.
Ball x Pit is a quick-moving fantasy game where players explore a never-ending pit filled with monsters. You’ll create magical weapons and gather supplies while searching for treasure, and you can even recruit other heroes to help you on your dangerous adventure.
The game is a good length for enjoying it during its free period – it’s not too short, but not overly long either. You could finish it this weekend, but it would take a solid commitment. Plan on spending somewhere between 15 and 25 hours, depending on whether you focus just on the main story or also explore optional content. The quicker playthroughs will take around 15 hours, while completing everything could take up to 25.
