■ About the Game

I’m really into this game called Curse Warrior. It’s a dungeon crawler RPG where you basically dive into this huge, underground maze called “Eclipse” and try to beat all the challenges and curses it throws at you.
In the dungeon, your party members may become cursed through various actions.
Curses change what your characters can do, so you’ll need to keep a close eye on your team and make smart choices about how to move forward. Focus on building up your characters while dealing with the effects of curses to conquer the dungeon.
■ Story
This is the story of a great adventure carried out by an adventurer one year ago…
The beautiful city of Echoes is a major travel center located close to the ocean. However, the people who live there are always worried about monsters coming out of Eclipse, a dangerous underground maze nearby.
In Echoes, you were building a reputation as an adventurer by completing simple quests and scouting when you received a new, urgent task: venture into the Eclipse labyrinth and defeat the monsters within. It seems the whole city is now relying on adventurers like you to deal with these dangerous beasts.
Venturing into a monster-filled dungeon, riddled with dangerous curses, is incredibly risky… But despite the danger, you’ve chosen to defend the city.
With the city’s peace—and the anticipation of hidden treasure in the labyrinth—driving you forward…

■ Game System
Prepare for Dangerous Dungeon Exploration
I’m so excited to finally explore the Eclipse labyrinth! It’s apparently where all the monsters are coming from, and it’s the key to saving the city. We’re going in to find the source of the outbreak and put a stop to it!
Echoes is the city where you’ll start your adventure. Make sure your team is ready and you have a plan before you begin exploring. As you delve deeper into the dungeon, you’ll unlock more options and services back in Echoes.

Eclipse is located near a number of other dungeons, and you’ll start your adventure by exploring them.
—As the story progresses, more dungeons will become accessible.

You will explore dungeons by accepting a “quest” at the entrance.
—The objectives of these quests vary.

As you finish quests, you’ll gain experience and gold. But if your party is defeated or you leave a quest before it’s finished, you won’t keep any progress – meaning no experience or items – and your characters won’t level up. Pay attention to your party’s health and strength to decide if you should keep fighting or go back.
Utilize Skills in Command-Based Battles
Combat in the dungeon happens through commands. Characters attack, defend, and use special abilities based on their chosen class.
—When you select an attack or skill, the estimated damage to the enemy will be displayed.

You can hire adventurers to join your group, choosing from eight different classes. Each class has its own fighting style and special abilities. To succeed, think carefully about what each member does well and doesn’t, and build a team that covers all its bases.
—Each character has two skills, and even characters of the same class may have different skills.

Curses: Key to Exploration and Strengthening Your Party
The defining element of Curse Warrior is the use of “curses.” Throughout the game, your characters will become cursed due to enemy attacks and traps found in the dungeon.
Even if you’re extremely cautious, you can’t go through the dungeon without being cursed.

Curses can impact combat and exploration in many ways, offering both helpful boosts and hindering penalties. These effects might last for a while, or they could activate at the beginning of a turn or during an attack.
Curses, like “Resilience,” can offer benefits and drawbacks – for instance, “Resilience” boosts your defense while lowering your maximum health. You’ll know which curse is currently affecting you by a glowing icon on your screen.

Every curse comes with both benefits and drawbacks. The good side could mean regaining health, dealing more damage, or automatically blocking attacks. However, curses can also have downsides like taking more damage, weakened abilities, unresponsive controls, or even accidentally hitting your allies.

Curse Fusion
The game also features “Curse Fusion,” letting you combine two or three curses to create an even stronger one.
—By fusing two curses…

—A new, higher-level curse is born!

As a long-time fan, I’ve noticed that the really powerful curses aren’t just more damaging – they’re also more likely to actually go off when you try to use them! And honestly, it’s a bit nerve-wracking – characters affected by these strong curses can sometimes do totally unpredictable things in the middle of a fight. It adds a lot of tension, but you really have to be careful!
Okay, so the curse system is pretty deep. You can stack up to six curses, and each one gives you two different effects, meaning I could have up to twelve things happening at once! My character’s power will constantly change depending on when these effects trigger. Honestly, figuring out how curses work and learning to use them in a fight is totally key to winning. It’s a lot to keep track of, but it’s super powerful if you get the hang of it.
Curse Gauge
Each character in the party has a Curse Gauge that increases when they take damage from enemies. Once the gauge is full, at 100%, that character will receive a curse.

Okay, so here’s the deal: if your character’s Curse Gauge goes over 300%, they’re done for – they’ll die from the curse! You really need to pay attention to that meter. If it gets close to the maximum, you’ve got to think about either running away from the fight or heading back to town to get healed before it’s too late. Seriously, don’t let it hit 300%!
Managing Curses in Echoes
Curses have several different impacts, but you can lessen those effects by visiting the city’s Curse Removal Facility, which targets specific problems.
Ugh, so I got hit with the ‘Resilience’ curse, and it’s making me take way more damage. Luckily, I heard there’s a Curse Removal Facility where I can get rid of it. Time to head over there and fix this!

The Curse Removal Facility lets you manage the random curses that affect your dungeon.
If a character is having a curse lifted, they can’t join in exploring dungeons. It’s a good idea to also level up your other characters so you have a strong team ready to go.

So, in this game, when I lift curses, I get ‘Purification Points’. I can use those to upgrade stuff in my city and other things too. The cool part is, if the curse was actually helping me, getting rid of it still gives me more points! That means sometimes it’s even worth removing a good curse just for the reward, which is a little mind-bending, but awesome.
—By upgrading the city’s facilities, you can further strengthen your party!

The further you go into the dungeon, the more curses your characters will accumulate, hindering their abilities and making combat harder. To succeed, you’ll need to learn to deal with these curses – accepting them, managing their effects, and even using them to your advantage. The curses you get, how they impact your team, and when to fight or retreat will all be crucial decisions that determine whether you survive and achieve your goals.
■ Unique and Reliable Adventurers
You can hire adventurers from eight different classes, and each one is unique. They all have different skills, look different, and excel in battle in their own way – with special attacks, strengths against curses, and preferred spots on the battlefield.
All adventurers have two unique abilities, called “skills.” These skills are assigned randomly based on the adventurer’s class. For instance, Fighters and Barbarians are strong against creatures like beasts and monsters, while Archers and Rangers excel at weakening their opponents’ defenses. Importantly, even adventurers of the same class won’t necessarily have the same skills – each one is different!
You’ll find adventurers gathering at the tavern in the city of Echoes, but keep in mind that the people you meet there will be different each day.

Fighter / Barbarian

- Optimal position is in the front line.

- Despite being a tank, they have a high critical rate and are reliable attackers.
- Has the lowest curse resistance rate, making them more prone to curses.
- Optimal position is in the front line.
- Skills:
- Undead Special Attack – Deals significant damage to undead monsters.
- Heal – Restores HP to allies within range.

- Skills:

Okay, so the monsters in this dungeon are tough. Seriously, you really need to get ready before you go in. That means hitting the town to stock up on supplies and leveling up your party. Do that, and you’ve got a much better shot at actually making it back alive!
