Housemarque has finally shown off Saros, their new roguelite third-person shooter, with a first look at gameplay. The game is expected to release in about six months.
The Finnish studio isn’t developing the game by itself – they’re getting help from Nixxes, another team within PlayStation Studios.
The studio confirmed its involvement on social media:
Nixxes is helping out on “key elements of art and gameplay” in Saros, the studio confirms.
This developer is best known for its work on PC, primarily focusing on bringing Sony’s PlayStation games to computers.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered was Nixxes’ first major project for PlayStation where they had significant creative control, marking a new level of involvement for the team.
Saros appears to be the next project for the team. Housemarque is taking the lead, with Nixxes providing key support.
The studio appears to be growing beyond simply adapting games for PC and is becoming a more versatile and imaginative development team.
We believe Nixxes’ work on Saros will help ensure a seamless PC release when it eventually happens.
