Tom Dumont is speaking up about his private health battle.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always impressed by artists who share their personal journeys. It takes real courage, and that’s exactly what guitarist Tom Dumont did recently. Just weeks before he and his No Doubt bandmates – Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, and Adrian Young – kick off their exciting concert series at the Las Vegas Sphere, Tom bravely revealed that he was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease. It’s inspiring to see him be so open and honest as they prepare for such a big moment in their career.
Tom recently shared in an Instagram video that he was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease. He explained that he had been experiencing various symptoms and underwent numerous tests with his doctor and a neurologist. He described living with the disease as a daily struggle and plans to share more details in a future video.
Parkinson’s disease is a condition that affects the nervous system. As explained by the Mayo Clinic, it happens when brain cells, called neurons, gradually deteriorate or die. These neurons create dopamine, a vital chemical that helps the brain control movement, so their loss leads to problems with how the body functions.
Tom shared some positive updates, saying he’s still able to play music and guitar, and has been feeling good. He also mentioned being inspired by the openness of people sharing their health journeys on social media.
He explained that it helps reduce the shame associated with the issue and brings it more attention, which is crucial for both preventing it and finding solutions through research.

Before his band begins a six-week residency in Las Vegas in May, the singer of “Don’t Speak” reflected on his successful career and expressed his thanks. He shares three children – Ace, 20, Rio, 17, and Koa, 15 – with his wife, Mieke.
He said the past couple of months preparing for the No Doubt shows at the Sphere have been really enjoyable. Going through old videos and photos, revisiting and practicing songs, and creating the visuals for the Sphere’s screens has made him reflect on how thankful he is for his career as a musician.
He also expressed gratitude to everyone who supported them – their families, friends, listeners, and all those who attended their shows over the years. He simply said, “Thank you.”

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Nikki just told us that during her match with Piper Niven back in July 2025, she actually got hit with an elbow that moved one of her breast implants! Can you even imagine?! It’s insane! I’ve watched that match like a million times, and now knowing that happened… I’m obsessed with finding the exact moment!
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she retired from her current job, she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she anticipated needing to present a polished image in the future and didn’t want it to appear neglected.

Lupita Nyong’o received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the year she won an Academy Award for her role in 12 Years a Slave.
I was so moved when she finally shared her story in 2025. She wrote on Instagram that she’d been quietly battling this for over ten years, and it really resonated with me. It was brave of her to finally speak out after so much silent struggle.
She explained that growing up, many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of womanhood. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, asking why she hadn’t posted recently. The message jokingly revealed a surprising reason for her silence: a hernia caused by wearing overly tight pants six months prior, which she’d been afraid to mention.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – meaning it hadn’t quite burst, but was very close to doing so.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

A Racing Louisville midfielder fell to the ground shortly after the start of her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player sat down on the field with a teammate supporting her, and then quickly collapsed. Trainers were called to assess her condition.
I was absolutely frantic when I heard about Savannah! The NWSL posted on X that she got immediate help right on the field, which was a tiny bit reassuring, and then they rushed her to the hospital to check her out. Thankfully, they said she’s stable and awake, and honestly, that’s all I needed to hear. I’ve been glued to my phone ever since, just hoping for good news!

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from being hit by a cement truck at age 11 continue to cause him problems even now.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I’ve been experiencing spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the last year, actually.”
He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying his body has several minor imperfections and isn’t quite functioning as it should.

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He described being in so much pain that he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and the pain worsened during a road trip with a friend.
He described a strange tingling sensation that still lingered in his knees and toes as of a March 2025 podcast episode of Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he couldn’t even do a squat or stand on one foot without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

The comedian later posted on social media to explain he had food poisoning and was recovering well.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday outing with her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
I was injured when someone at another party accidentally fired a gun in the wrong direction, and I was shot in the face, I shared on Instagram. Thankfully, @thebrendanrooney quickly helped me, figured out what was wrong, and got me to the hospital. I was hit five times, and one of the shots nearly hit my right eye.
The Kim Possible actor explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they will keep monitoring the situation. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for being alive. She shared her deep love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, explaining that she’d experienced a moment where she reflected on her life. She urged everyone to cherish their loved ones and hug them whenever possible, emphasizing how quickly life can change.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, surprisingly, after it helped her uncover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” in photos, she faced criticism online. But instead of just negativity, doctors began commenting, expressing concern that she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition potentially caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Amy to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections following a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, and she’s relieved to be healthy. As she shared, getting that diagnosis was ‘the greatest news imaginable.’ She’s thankful the online attention ultimately led to answers.

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player was accidentally cut in the face by another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald shared with ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, unable to speak and experiencing drooping on the right side of her face. Although these symptoms eventually subsided, she went to the hospital for evaluation. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had moved through this hole and caused the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also mentioned it became increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that they were grateful he was going to be okay after what she called a scary and unexpected situation.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he suffered from a severe headache one day while in Atlanta. Before he could take aspirin, he lost consciousness and doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became concerned and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying, “I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star said she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembers only darkness, followed by light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
Let me tell you, I really hit a wall there for a while. I was seriously unwell, and it turns out I had something called rhabdomyolysis. Basically, it’s your body’s emergency alarm – a way of saying, ‘Something is seriously wrong, and I need to protect myself, even if that means shutting down.’ It was scary, because my organs were actually starting to fail.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the show, she experienced a severe headache at the gym that quickly escalated. She described feeling violently ill and realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan revealed she’d suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain – due to a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.
Though the aphasia eventually passed and she was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This procedure was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and a life-threatening situation. Doctors had to perform an extremely invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia reports that she has now made a full recovery and is at 100%.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always inspired by stories of resilience, and Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is a perfect example. She recently shared her health journey with me, and it’s truly moving. Back in January 2024, Cori suffered a stroke, and she immediately reached out to her family. Thankfully, they rallied around her instantly. She told me everyone ‘just came to my rescue,’ which really speaks to the power of family. Her hospital stay ended up being longer than expected, as she was also dealing with lupus and kidney issues on top of recovering from the stroke. But the good news is, Cori is doing fantastic now! She’s been working on regaining some motor skills, but overall, she’s feeling great and is on the mend. It’s a powerful reminder to cherish your loved ones and prioritize your health.

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue – unable to walk for more than five minutes without needing hours of rest – and persistent stomach pain. She described a confusing process of receiving multiple diagnoses from different doctors.
Determined to find answers, Woodley, who has kept her specific condition private, combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This search for well-being spanned a decade.
She explained that the physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.
Fortunately, after years of addressing both her physical and mental health, Woodley is now feeling much better and considers herself very healthy. She expressed happiness to be in a place of well-being.
