While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are keeping their wedding plans a secret, New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani has hinted that they will be getting married in the city this summer.

The politician stated on June 15th that their city is the largest in the nation and well-prepared to host the 2026 World Cup, telling reporters they frequently hold large events and are thrilled about this opportunity, according to Page Six.

The 34-year-old also mentioned that they’re aware this event happens during a busy time – with the Knicks in the NBA Finals, July 4th celebrations marking America’s 250th anniversary, and even Taylor Swift’s wedding all taking place around the same period. They expressed their excitement about hosting visitors from across the globe.

Although Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce haven’t announced their wedding details, many people are speculating it will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City the weekend of July 3rd.

Madison Square Garden CEO James Dolan suggested reports about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce receiving free Knicks tickets in exchange for using the venue for their wedding were inaccurate. He clarified that Travis Kelce was actually at a required training camp and wouldn’t have been able to attend the Finals game anyway.

Will Mamdani, who’s a big Taylor Swift fan, be at the concert to see what white dress she wears? He says no, he won’t be there.

“I wish them a lovely wedding,” he continued. “I’ll listen to ‘Only the Young’ at home on my own.”

Some of the guests invited to Taylor Swift’s event have expressed their enthusiasm, like Suki Waterhouse, who is hoping to get inspiration for her own wedding to Robert Pattinson.

This two-hour podcast appearance came just thirteen days before her engagement announcement – though her fiancé’s father mentioned they had already told close friends and family about their relationship three days prior. She described finding these kinds of patterns “really fun.”

With Travis choosing to play another year in the NFL, the team needs to adjust its plans. They have until July – when training camp begins – to make those changes.

While the Kansas City Chiefs tight end certainly could have found time for a wedding in October – Taylor’s favorite month – saying it happened “during the bye week” just doesn’t sound as romantic as if it had occurred during a more relaxed period.
