Off Campus Issues Warning Against Harassment Ahead of Season 2

Off Campus is calling all fans for a team huddle.

Now that filming has begun for the second season of the hockey-themed romance and the actors are heading back to the set at Briar University, the show has asked viewers to be kind and supportive.

The team behind the show Off Campus shared a message on June 11th emphasizing that their community is founded on a passion for stories and, importantly, respect for the actors and everyone involved in bringing those stories to life. They’re asking everyone in the community to show that same respect to the cast and to the people in their personal lives.

The message ended with a warning to online users: accounts that repeatedly harass others will be blocked from following us.

I’ve been following this situation closely, and it’s good to see Mika Abdalla and her ex-fiancé, Jake Short, are addressing some old comments. A clip from their 2024 podcast, The Sit and Chat (which Jake did with Bradley Steven Perry), recently resurfaced, and fans felt it was disrespectful towards Mika. This all comes just days before Mika starts filming season two as Allie Hayes, alongside Stephen Kalyn as Dean Di Laurentis – I’m so excited for the new season!

In a joint statement to Us Weekly on June 5th, the former couple addressed circulating clips of them together, explaining that these videos have led to harmful and incorrect interpretations of their relationship.

Abdalla, 26, and Short, 29, explained that they’d been in a loving and respectful relationship for several years. They were upset to see private, playful moments examined and misrepresented, as those moments didn’t reflect the genuine love and respect they shared – and continue to share – for each other.

The former star of Ant Farm also released a statement apologizing for his offensive remark. He had jokingly referred to Abdalla with a derogatory term when Perry asked him to describe her in a cringeworthy video clip.

I recently shared a clip from the past that contained an immature and disrespectful joke. I understand it was wrong and I want to take full responsibility for it, as I’m posting an apology on Instagram Stories.

He explained that the situation didn’t reflect his true character, either as an individual or within his relationship. However, he’s using it as a learning experience and is committed to treating others with respect.

The couple, who got engaged in 2025, announced they had broken up recently after being together for five years. They said the split was friendly.

Mika and Jake have broken up, her representative confirmed on June 2nd. They are still supportive of each other and remain friends, and have asked for privacy during this time.

The actress, born in New York and raised in London, currently plays the character of Hannah, a dedicated songwriter, in the popular show Off Campus. She is reportedly single, but excited about what the future holds, given the show’s growing success.

Bright told Vanity Fair she never expected her series to become so popular. “It completely changed my life for the better, in ways I always hoped for but never thought possible,” she said. “I’m achieving things I didn’t even believe could happen.”

Popular hockey star Graham, known as a ‘big man on campus,’ needs to show Hannah he’s just as great as a boyfriend as he is on the ice.

However, in her personal life, Illinois native Cameli has been with TV writer Raina Morris since at least March 2025. Cameli hinted at their relationship by including Morris in a photo series on Instagram.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Allie, who played Hannah’s best friend and totally stole Dean’s heart on the show – seriously, Stephen Kalyn and Allie had AMAZING chemistry – was actually engaged to Jake Short, her co-star from Sex Appeal! I was SO rooting for them, but sadly they broke up back in June 2026. It’s just… heartbreaking, honestly!

Following recent attention on Mika’s private life, a representative for Abdalla confirmed to Us Weekly that she and Jake have ended their relationship. They are still supportive of each other and remain friends, and have asked for privacy at this time.

Although Dean has struggled with commitment in the past, Kalyn’s fiancée, Victoria Lovatsis, has been a constant presence in his life since 2012.

In March 2024, Lovatsis showed off a diamond ring on her Instagram, and she was wearing it at the premiere of Off Campus in May. Kalyn might not have even attended the event if Lovatsis hadn’t invited her.

The actor shared with Elite Daily that his fiancée had been a fan of the books for years, with Dean as her favorite character. When the TV show was announced, she insisted he try out for the role, telling him, ‘You absolutely have to play Dean.’

Garrett’s friend, John Logan, isn’t like many of the other students who are known for dating around. And the actor who plays him, Cipriano, has been in a committed relationship with Justine Verheul since 2023.

In August 2024, she celebrated one year with the person she loves most. Then, in May 2025, for Cipriano’s 25th birthday, she wrote a heartfelt message calling him her life partner, travel companion, and best friend, and expressing how effortlessly joyful it is to celebrate him and how impressed she is with him every day.

John Tucker is a kind and thoughtful character, and similar to the relaxed nurse Mateo from The Pitt, he seems ready for a romance when the Off Campus series explores his love life as a forward on the Briar team.

And the same goes for Brooks, who appears to be romantically unattached IRL for now.

I really enjoy stories that develop gradually,” the Los Angeles native shared with The Hollywood Reporter. “I think viewers will especially appreciate the way the show builds Tucker’s character, showing him transform into a kind and powerful figure.”

The Australian actor won’t return for season two of Off Campus because his character, Justin, wasn’t a good match for Hannah, who realized she didn’t have romantic feelings for him.

Perhaps Justin will return later in the show. According to series creator Louisa Levy, they didn’t get to introduce Stella, who Justin eventually couples with in the book, leaving open the possibility of bringing him back in a future season.

You know, people are always curious about what’s happening in my personal life, and right now, I’m happily focused on myself. While I’m definitely open to finding someone special and building a relationship down the road, it just hasn’t happened yet. I’m excited for when that chapter begins, but for now, I’m enjoying this time!

Heuston shared with Esquire Australia in 2025 that he eventually envisions a traditional life with a family and a home, but feels it’s still a ways off. He added that life is unpredictable, and things can change rapidly.
