Off Campus season 2 gets major update as creator reassures fans over big change

Off Campus has quickly become a popular series on Prime Video, and viewers are already eager for the next season.

I was already thrilled when I heard “Off Campus” was getting a second season – and they renewed it before the first one even came out! It felt like they really believed in the show, and it got me so hyped. Now, we finally know what the second season will focus on, and honestly, it’s amazing news for fans like me!

The second season of Off Campus will center around the relationship between Allie Hayes (played by Mika Abdalla) and her boyfriend, Dean Di Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn), who is also Hannah’s (Ella Bright) best friend.

Season 2 of Off Campus will shift its focus to multiple couples, moving away from solely following Hannah and Garrett’s relationship. While Hannah and Garrett (Belmont Cameli) won’t be the only focus, showrunner Louisa Levy assures fans they will still be important characters in the show. The new season’s format is reminiscent of shows like Bridgerton, which also centers on various romantic pairings.

Viewers suspected Off Campus was heading this way, particularly after the creator, Levy, mentioned in an interview with EW that she wanted to explore a couple’s life after their happy ending. She explained she wanted to show what happens when you’re invested in a couple and don’t want to see them split up, but still crave more of their story – and now the show will deliver that.

Hannah and Garrett will continue to appear in season 2, but their relationship won’t be the main focus of the storyline this season.

Season one focused on Hannah and Garrett developing a fake relationship that blossomed into real feelings. However, season two will likely move at a different speed with Allie and Dean, as their relationship began in the previous season and viewers already saw them get together.

I’m so excited for the show! They’re adapting Elle Kennedy’s books, and it sounds like they’re changing the order a little bit. Apparently, the third book’s storyline – the one with Allie and Dean’s relationship – will be a big focus. Since the second book centers around John Logan, I’m hoping we’ll get hints about his story in the upcoming season, too. It’s going to be great!

When the main actors for season two were revealed, the author, Kennedy, explained to Today that a significant portion of the book – about half – focuses on the developing romantic relationship between the leads. However, she also hinted that the show hasn’t yet covered many important plot developments from that part of the story.

She went on: “There’s obviously a big spoiler of another big, massive event that happens.

As a fan, I have a feeling we’re about to see some incredible moments we’ve been dreaming of – things that haven’t even happened yet! I think there are scenes coming up that will really hit us in the feels, especially because they’re straight from the books. Honestly, I don’t think we’ve seen everything the story has to offer – there’s so much more to come!

Kennedy, the author of the series, shared her hopes for the future of Allie and Dean’s story. She’d like to see their connection deepen, and for Dean to mature and face the realities of life, acknowledging that things aren’t always easy.

She’s interested in seeing stories that explore how people cope with difficult times, family dynamics, and even relatable personal concerns like getting a parent’s approval. She mentioned a few specific scenes she’d love to include, and feels they likely will make it into the final version.
