A free demo for one of 2026’s biggest upcoming games will be available later this week. 2026 is already looking like a huge year for video games, with major titles like Resident Evil Requiem, Pokemon Pokopia, Crimson Desert, Marathon, and Nioh 3 all scheduled to release in just the first three months. Even more big games are expected throughout the rest of the year, and this demo offers a chance to play one of the most anticipated titles early.
Square Enix just announced a demo is coming soon for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, a fresh update to the popular RPG originally released on PlayStation in 2001. While the game received a remake for Nintendo 3DS in 2013, this new version is being rebuilt for modern consoles and PCs. Dragon Quest VII Reimagined aims to enhance both the gameplay and story, and features a new art style inspired by Pixar movies.
The demo for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will be available tomorrow, January 7th. Square Enix hasn’t announced how long the demo will last, but any progress you make in it can be carried over to the full game. If you’re planning on playing DQVII Reimagined when it comes out, it’s a good idea to try the demo first.
The complete remake of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined comes out next month on February 5th. You’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Keep checking back with ComicBook for more updates and details about the game before it launches!
