Okay, so I was starting to think this Netflix series, based on Matthew Quirk’s book, was over after Season 3. It really grabbed me with its initial concept, and a lot of viewers were left wanting more, but it seemed like the showrunners were done. Thankfully, Shawn Ryan pulled off something amazing and we’re getting a potential Season 4! Honestly, the fans – myself included – are thrilled about the possibility of continuing the story.
Although Netflix hasn’t officially announced a fourth season of The Night Agent, the writers are already working on it. The show has filmed in various locations – Vancouver for season one, and New York, Türkiye, and Thailand for seasons two and three. Season four’s location was uncertain due to financial and logistical challenges, but it looks like the show has received a $31 million tax credit, secured by showrunner Shawn Ryan, which will allow it to film in Los Angeles and bring the story back for another season.
When And What Can We Expect From Season 4?

The Night Agent is a thrilling and quick-moving series about a low-level FBI agent who gets pulled into a top-secret unit working in the White House basement. His job is to answer an emergency phone line that rarely rings—until it does, launching him into a shocking conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of power. Each season features a brand new story, keeping things interesting. The show’s new direction promises to breathe fresh life into the storyline fans already enjoy. It’s a classic, fast-paced spy thriller—perfect for easy watching and getting lost in the action. According to James Field of Pajiba, it’s “popcorn fare” that’s easy to binge, while Miles Surrey of The Ringer compares it to 24, calling it a thrilling series that falls somewhere between a light, quick read and more complex spy dramas. Expect Season 4 to deliver more of the same: a fun, action-packed spy drama that will keep you hooked.
We don’t have a confirmed release date for Season 3 yet, but Season 4 is likely coming soon, following the pattern of yearly releases for the show. Season 2 was filmed from February to July 2024 and released in January 2025. Season 3 was then filmed from February to July 2025, and is currently expected to premiere in January 2026.
