Kindergarten Wars is a real standout series from Shonen Jump, and now we’re getting a better preview of its upcoming anime adaptation. An anime was confirmed to be in the works last October after about a year of speculation, but details have been scarce until now.
It’s exciting that Kindergarten Wars is getting an anime! Following the Jump Festa 2026 event, we’ve finally gotten a first glimpse of the anime’s staff and visuals. While a trailer and release date haven’t been announced yet, the initial reveal suggests Kindergarten Wars has the potential to be a truly exceptional adaptation.
Everything We Know About The Kindergarten Wars Anime
Currently, the only details available about the Kindergarten Wars anime are the people working on it. Atsumi Tanezaki and Kentaro Kumagai will be the voices of Rita and Doug, Shinsuke Gomi is directing at Sunrise, and Junko Yamanaka is handling the character designs – the key visual you see above is her work.
Shinsuke Gomi is a relatively new director, but he’s been a highly active and talented animator on many popular anime projects lately. He’s best known for his work as animation director on the critically acclaimed film Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song, which means this new project is likely to have stunning visuals.
Junko Yamanaka’s animation work is a major strength of the series. She’s skillfully captured the manga’s unique and humorous art style, and given how exciting the manga’s action sequences are, the animation promises to be dynamic, visually stunning, and thoroughly enjoyable throughout.
Why Kindergarten Wars’ Anime Is So Exciting

I absolutely love the action in Kindergarten Wars! It’s non-stop energy, and since the story is all about guns and fighting, every scene is packed with it. What really gets me is how creative the fights are – even when they’re totally silly, they’re just so much fun to watch unfold. It’s a blast seeing what crazy things the characters will do to try and take each other out!
What truly makes this manga stand out is its excellent writing. It’s consistently funny with delightfully silly humor, but it also handles romance and drama with genuine emotion, adding real depth. This creates a surprisingly complete and enjoyable story for a wide range of readers.
Thanks to its exciting action and strong writing, Kindergarten Wars has consistently been a top manga published by Shonen Jump. With a talented team working on the upcoming anime adaptation, it’s poised to be a fantastic and faithful representation of the source material.
