We’re seeing more and more games fall into different budget categories – alongside big-budget AAA and indie titles, ‘AA’ games are gaining popularity, with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 potentially becoming a classic. There’s also been a trend toward ‘AAAA’ games, but this hasn’t really taken off, particularly after the initial reaction to the first one. Now, that first AAAA game, Skull and Bones – Ubisoft’s pirate adventure – is heavily discounted and available for just $6 for a limited time.
You can currently get Skull and Bones for $6 on the PlayStation Store, Steam, and Xbox Series X/S. Premium Editions are also discounted, though not on PlayStation 5. A free trial is available on all platforms, and the game is playable with Ubisoft+, PlayStation Plus, and Xbox Game Pass. PlayStation players need to take advantage of this offer by December 2nd, while Xbox and PC players have until December 6th.
Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones Is Just $6
Even with the current discount, it’s tough to recommend Skull and Bones. The game received negative reviews when it first came out and still doesn’t have a great reputation. It initially felt incomplete, lacking the engaging sailing and pirate elements that made Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag so popular. Ubisoft has made improvements based on player feedback, but the core issues haven’t been fully resolved, and there’s a risk the game might not be supported long-term.
At $6, this game is a decent value, especially since there aren’t many true pirate adventures available. While it’s not perfect, it offers enjoyable gameplay. Sea of Thieves is excellent for playing with others, but Skull and Bones is a good choice if you prefer to play alone. Ubisoft has successfully recreated the excitement of ship-to-ship battles, though don’t expect much in the way of boarding enemy vessels, fighting on land, or exploring beyond sailing. Considering the potential remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is rumored, it might be wise to hold off if you’re looking for a top-notch pirate experience.
Similar Deals to Check Out
If you enjoy pirate games, Skull and Bones is available now, and it’s a good value at $6. However, Sea of Thieves is also on sale for $19.99 on Steam, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 until December 2nd.
Fans of pirate adventures shouldn’t miss the current sale on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the popular game that influenced Skull and Bones. Many consider it a better game overall, and it’s available on PlayStation and Xbox for just $8.99. If you haven’t played it yet, now is a great time to experience this classic.
