It’s been confirmed that new previews for Avengers: Doomsday would be shown before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. The latest preview, which hasn’t been released online yet, is like the first one: it ends with an announcement that a popular character will be back in Avengers: Doomsday, followed by the countdown to the movie’s release next December.
The latest trailer for Doomsday features Thor (Chris Hemsworth) walking through a forest while reciting a heartfelt prayer to his father. He asks for the strength to return to his daughter, Love, whom we briefly see him tenderly kissing. Thor explains he’s always answered the call to fight and fulfill his duties, but now he wants something different: to be a father and protect his innocent child. He prays to be able to return home not as a warrior, but as a source of peace and teach her tranquility – something he never experienced himself. The trailer ends with one of the original Avengers preparing for what looks like a huge, climactic battle.
This Confirms A God-Tier Arrival For Doomsday
Love, a character first appearing in the 2022 film Thor: Love and Thunder, is the daughter of Gorr (played by Christian Bale), the villain who became known as the God Butcher. After Gorr’s death, Thor adopted Love, and she was later revived by Eternity. The movie concluded with Thor promising Love they would share future adventures. This film also marks the first time audiences see Thor in entirely new footage, rather than clips from previous movies. Plus, Tom Hiddleston will be reprising his role as Loki, meaning Thor and Loki will be reunited onscreen.
Love is shaping up to be one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though she’s still young, she possesses incredible abilities, gaining cosmic powers – like shooting energy beams from her eyes – when she was brought back to life by Eternity. Plus, she’s learning to be a hero alongside her father, Thor, and now skillfully wields the Stormbreaker axe.
We don’t know exactly what Love will do in Doomsday, but given how powerful she is, it’s bound to be significant.
