One of the fan favorite LEGO sets is celebrating its one-year anniversary in the worst way possible.
Several fan accounts have reported that the popular Netflix One Piece x LEGO Battle at Arlong Park set is being discontinued. LEGO only produced the set for one year after it was released on August 1, 2025.
Why Losing the One Piece Arlong Park LEGO Set Is Such a Big Deal
Arlong Park is a truly unforgettable location in One Piece, best known as the setting for the Straw Hat Pirates’ intense battle against the Arlong Pirates. This fight is particularly memorable and emotionally powerful, as it determines the fate of Nami.
As the very first in a series of One Piece collaborations, this set generated a lot of excitement and praise, both from fans and the companies involved.
In 2025, Josh Simon, Netflix’s VP of Consumer Products and Experiences, explained that the collaboration with LEGO was a great chance to create something truly special for One Piece fans worldwide. He noted the incredibly positive response they received when they first hinted at the collection, confirming that fans had been eagerly waiting for it.
Yi-Chien Cheng, the Associate Design Lead for the LEGO One Piece set, shared, “It was a dream come true to bring the Straw Hat Pirates to life in LEGO bricks for fans around the world. As a longtime One Piece fan myself, I really enjoyed collaborating with the team to recreate iconic locations and scenes from the Netflix live-action series using LEGOs.”
Good news for One Piece fans – even though some sets are no longer being made, there are still lots of other LEGO sets available that bring scenes and locations from the series to life. In fact, just back in March…
The next month brought a wide range of new LEGO sets, including a large Tony Tony Chopper figure and a detailed depiction of the fight between Dorry and Brogy. Other sets recreated scenes like the showdown with Captain Smoker, Dr. Hiriluk’s hideout, Garp’s Marine Battleship, and the battle at Drum Castle.
The LEGO One Piece The Going Merry Ship set is currently slated to be retired on July 31.
