Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga! The long-awaited Elbaph Arc in the One Piece manga has finished its flashback, revealing the story of Harald and the events of God Valley. With many questions about the past now answered, the focus shifts back to the current battle in Elbaph. Shortly after the Straw Hat Pirates landed in the Giant’s land, the Holy Knights infiltrated the island and kidnapped the children. Shamrock Figarland, Shanks’ twin brother and leader of the Holy Knights, believes taking the children hostage is the quickest way to force the Giants to surrender, and so far, his plan is succeeding.
Even Scopper Gaban, a powerful fighter who could easily defeat all the Holy Knights, was forced to surrender when his son’s life was threatened. Luffy, Loki, and the others, currently in the underworld, hear about the crisis from Chopper and are heading to help. Elsewhere, the Giants, surprised by the unexpected attack despite their peaceful life, have formally declared war on the World Government. The next chapter, 1174, promises a significant shift in the ongoing battle.
One Piece Chapter 1174 Teases The Battle Has Finally Begun

Each new issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine includes a short preview of the next chapter of each series. These previews, added by the editor, hint at important upcoming events, but they’re only found in the Japanese magazine. A popular One Piece fan account on X (formerly Twitter), @pewpiece, frequently shares translations of these previews. According to @pewpiece, the preview for Chapter 1174 says, “Elbaph rises, the battle signal is raised.”
Elbaph is the world’s most powerful nation, making it a long-standing target for enslavement by figures like Imu. With a major war already underway, the World Government is scrambling to recruit more soldiers. It’s particularly infuriating that the Giants, despite being incredibly strong, have always remained passive towards the Government – until now. Jarul, a hero of the island, has officially declared war on the World Government, but this is just the beginning of the larger, upcoming Final War.
Even with all the recent turmoil, most of the island’s inhabitants are still unaware of the full extent of what’s going on. However, upcoming events suggest that’s about to change. Currently, the Holy Knights have the upper hand, but that could shift as the island’s warriors unite and prepare to fight back against the villains.
