One Piece Live-Action Actor Shares Grueling Physical And Mental Torture He Went Through For His Role

Being a Straw Hat Pirate in One Piece isn’t easy, even though the main characters are incredibly powerful as they search for Gol D. Roger’s treasure. Just like Luffy and his crew, the actors in the popular Netflix live-action series have been working hard to get into shape. Taz Skylar, who plays Sanji, has openly discussed the intense training he did, both learning to cook and getting physically fit. He recently shared a video detailing the injuries and challenges he faced to prepare for his role on the Going Merry.

The second season of Netflix’s One Piece will feature significant battles for Sanji as the Straw Hat crew travels to places like Drum Island, Loguetown, Whiskey Peak, and Little Garden. In a recent video, stunt coordinator Skylar explained that getting ready for the first season was incredibly challenging, admitting he initially doubted they could succeed. He was severely injured before filming even began, with torn ACLs, fractures, and damaged ankles. You can watch the video for more details.

What Will Sanji be up to in One Piece Season 2?

I’ve been looking into what’s coming up in the second season of the One Piece live-action series, and while Sanji won’t have a whole storyline dedicated to him, he’ll definitely be busy. It looks like they’re adapting the Drum Island arc, where Sanji and the crew face off against some pretty fierce creatures. And of course, being the chef, he’ll be keeping everyone fed – which they’ll need after battling groups like Baroqueworks! He’ll be a key player even without a dedicated arc.

In the manga and anime, Sanji and the Straw Hat crew have been fighting in many battles. After the events on Egghead Island, they arrived at Elbaph, the island of the giants. However, the anime is making a significant change this year: Toei Animation is moving away from releasing new episodes every week and will instead release them every other week. This change will give Eiichiro Oda, the manga creator, more time to develop the story, which should mean fewer filler episodes in the anime.

Fans eager to see Taz Skylar reprise his role as Sanji will be happy to know that the second season of One Piece premieres on March 10th. With a third season already planned, One Piece is becoming increasingly popular in North America.
