Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga! The current Elbaf Arc in the One Piece manga is full of exciting and dramatic chapters. Soon after Luffy and his crew reach the legendary island of the Giants, a group called the Holy Knights arrives, secretly planning to take control. Rather than fighting the Giants head-on, the Holy Knights take children hostage, hoping to force the Giants to surrender. Although the villains initially have the upper hand, the story pauses for an important backstory before the main battle begins. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Loki are preparing to fight, but we’ll have to wait until the flashback is over to learn the truth about Harald’s death before the action can continue.
The Giants think Loki, son of the Elbaf king Harald, is responsible for their king’s death, but the real story is much more complicated. The manga flashes back to Harald’s life, showing his initial encounter with the famous pirate Rocks D. Xebec. Xebec quickly becomes the central focus, and as Harald’s past unfolds, the details of the God Valley Incident are revealed. This incident highlights the immense power and frightening nature of those with the ‘D’ in their name.
The D. Clan Truly Have The Power to Change One Piece’s World

For years, fans of One Piece have come across mysterious phrases like “the Will of the D” and “the D will kick up a storm.” While the series has established that members of the D. Clan are important to the story, it hasn’t fully explained what these phrases mean. Even so, there’s a sense that these individuals and their destiny inspire fear and suggest great power.
I’ve noticed the World Government is constantly watching anyone with a significant family name, especially those who could really shake things up. Back during the God Valley Incident, Roger, Garp, and Xebec – all related somehow – caused a huge uproar, exactly what the world was worried about. Once Imu managed to control Xebec, the partnership between Roger and Garp ended up being a really pivotal moment in history.
The power displayed by these three individuals was immense, causing the island to tremble – a level of strength rarely seen even today. Their actions during the God Valley Incident fundamentally changed the world, and its effects are still felt. The event completely altered the balance of power, resulting in the total destruction of an entire island. As the story enters its final arc, we’re only beginning to learn the full truth about the mysterious D. Clan, and more secrets will be revealed.
