Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga! The current Elbaf Arc in the One Piece manga finally reveals the long-awaited God Valley flashback, a story fans have been waiting years to see. Though the story initially centered on Harald, it quickly shifted to focus on Rocks D. Xebec after his introduction. Xebec proved to be a surprisingly complex character, and his death is a particularly heartbreaking moment in the series. It was revealed that the Native Hunting Competition held in God Valley, Xebec’s home, was actually a carefully planned trap designed to capture him.
I was on the edge of my seat watching the God Valley arc! Xebec knowingly walked into a potentially fatal situation – his wife and young son, Marshall D. Teach, were being held hostage, and he had to try and save them. Then things really escalated when Imu, the world’s shadowy ruler, arrived and just… demonstrated absolute power. Now that we finally know what happened to Xebec and the God Valley flashback is over, I’m so hyped to see the story move forward with Harald and finally uncover the mystery surrounding his death. It’s been a long wait, but it’s going to be incredible!
Roger and Garp’s Alliance in One Piece Is a Tragic Yet Historic Moment

Chapter 1165 of One Piece shows how Xebec died fighting Roger and Garp. While it was already known they battled, the details of why were surprising. Sengoku, a former Fleet Admiral, first brought up the God Valley Incident, but he portrayed Xebec as a good guy and left out key information about the Native Hunting Competition. It turns out Roger and Garp didn’t originally want to kill Xebec; they were forced to when he started taking orders from Imu.
Roger and Xebec were longtime rivals who both loved sailing the seas, making their battle incredibly difficult for Roger emotionally. Imu wanted Xebec to kill his own family, and Xebec, desperate to avoid this, pleaded with his friends to end his life. After gaining immense power from the Domi Reversi, Xebec realized only Roger and Garp were strong enough to defeat him. They teamed up to do so, earning Garp recognition as a Marine Hero, while Roger’s part in the fight was kept secret.
