Only Murders in the Building season 5 has UK release date confirmed by Disney+

Last year, the show “Only Murders in the Building” was renewed for a fifth season, and it seems that fans will soon be revisiting its captivating universe.

The confirmation is out! Season 5 of the series will make its comeback on September 9th, exclusively on Disney+. It’ll kick off with three initial episodes, followed by weekly releases after that.

In much the same way as past seasons, the forthcoming edition features ten episodes and has assembled an impressive ensemble of celebrities, with the celebrated trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez taking center stage.

Not only has a release date been announced, but we also get our first glimpse into the new season. The trio is depicted in the classic pose of the three wise monkeys, symbolizing ‘see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil’. Could this hint at some upcoming events?

Naturally, it wouldn’t feel like Only Murders in the Building without ending each season with a spine-tingling cliffhanger, and season 4 was no exception to this pattern.

Following the unraveling of the enigma surrounding Sazz’s homicide, the threesome experienced an exhilarating moment as Oliver (portrayed by Martin Short) and Loretta (Meryl Streep) tied the knot and rejoiced in the Arconia’s courtyard.

However, the brief joy lasted only until doorman Lester (Teddy Coluca) was discovered lifeless in the fountain, paving the way for the intense drama that was about to unfold in season 5.

When their dear doorman, Lester, passes away in what appears to be more than just an accident, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel are unwilling to accept this explanation.

The probe delves them into the murky recesses of New York and farther, revealing a hazardous network of hidden truths linking influential tycoons, traditional gangsters, and the enigmatic dwellers of the Arconia.

The threesome finds an unexpected chasm between the established city they believed they understood and the rapidly changing New York City that surrounds them – a place where the once powerful mafia clings to its power while new, potentially deadlier forces take shape.

As a movie buff, I can’t help but be intrigued by the Arconia series. While it promises to delve into the lives of its residents, what really piques my interest is the hint of underworld connections it seems to suggest. Frankly, I can hardly wait to uncover these mysteries!

This season’s cast is just as illustrious as the one from season 4. Notable actors such as Keegan-Michael Key, Christopher Waltz, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Jermaine Fowler, Bobby Cannavale, Téa Leoni, again featuring Christoph Waltz, Beanie Feldstein, and Dianne Wiest are all scheduled to appear.

The stars who are back for this show are Michael Cyril Creighton, Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, and Nathan Lane.

During the previous season, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, and Eva Longoria took on the roles of Charles, Oliver, and Mabel’s Hollywood counterparts respectively. However, it seems unlikely that there will be a continuation of their big-screen appearances, as they have not been announced to reprise their roles in the upcoming fifth season.
